Just incase anyone looks at the pictures with the motherboard on the antistatic bag and thinks of doing the same thing with putting your MB on the anti static bag and tries to do a boot test DO NOT DO THAT!! the black lines have conductive material in them and if you end up pressing the MB to hard into it you could short something out if you try to boot the system with it on the bag. NEVER put electronics you plan on powering on antistatic bags, don't do it. Put it on the cardboard box they come with if anything.

Props to everyone who studies up on parts compatibilty and benchmarks for days and days to build their pc on their own. Its an accomplishment worthy of a medal of some sort!

Thanks! First time buildin one. Just looked at reviews, forums, and youtube videos lol. The instructions that come with the parts are usually japanese or korean badly translated and horribly unspecific. And alot of forums people talk in confusing tech talk and dont simplify things. But i got it done without to much hassle. The only thing that sucked was hiding the cords, and putting on the cpu heatsink fan. But those just took some fiddling. Installing two hardrives is a pain in the rear. First i couldnt get the ssd to recognize, and i did and put windows on it. Now the old OS drive, an hdd, wont show in the disk management. Ugh.Still cant get windows 8 to recognize the second drive but i hopefully will fix it this weekend.

I picked and chose stuff on sale and got it all for 1825!

I wanted to show everything! Got the mcafee for free, gonna sell it on ebay lol. I use webroot and malwarebytes they are topnotch. Got 3 copies of malware bytes for $8 total! Gonna sell the other two and make all money off of it lol.

Ok so windows updated and now it recognizes both hard drives! Everythings running perfect now yay! Now on to the overclocking! Almost figured it out. Btw this case is great the front fans snap in and one came doa but they are sending me a replacement thanks nzxt! I reeally like the case. The zalman and the vapor x are both very quiet running to me, no whine like others say. Im running guild wars 2 on every setting maxed at 1080p and i get between 50 and 80 fps depending where i am. When my 1440p monitor gets here ill post fps on that. Also will update fps when i overclock all the parts. Alot of fun! I chose parts for best performance for the price. As nvidia is 150 more for a gtx 680 with same performance and 3570k is 220 and almost equal to the 120$ more i7s, i went with that. Sapphire radeon ghz 7970 came with rebate and free crysis 3 and bioshock infinite (deal is still available at newegg) xfx ghz 7970 and sapphire 3gb 7970 ghz have good value. Overclock well and beat 680s most of the time!

Just overclocked the cpu from 3.4 to 4.2 with the auto overclock genie 2 from the msi board! Its doin great. Overclock the 7970 tomorrow!

Hey, could you post pictures of your monitor? I'm curious about it - is it one of those Korean monitors off of ebay? I hear a lot of good things about them, and if it is one of those I'd like to hear your opinion on it.

Yes i will put up pics of the monitor as soon as it gets here. I ordered one but then they were out of the perfect pixel versions and they had slow shipments on the way because of korean new years holidays a week ago, so they gave me a refund and i just repurchased one on ebay. It should be here next week. I cant wait......

Oh and no i didnt power it on on the static proof bag, but thats good to know. I never heard that before.

Just installed a second sapphire 7970 ghz in crossfire. Thought i had a dead 2nd pcie slot but turned out it wasnt going 100% in the slot because the mobo was bending when i pushed card in and i couldnt tell with the first card blocking my view. Held the back of the mobo and got it seated correctly. Had some stuttering but found out i had to disable ulps with regedit (registry edit) but i disabled it with sapphire trix instead. Also was using two bridge connectors like the mobo manual suggested was neccessary for a crossfire, but a single bridge works better in some cases. Will do more testing tonight.

how good is that cooler? I am debating between this and the hyper 212 plus? which should I get. Any comments will be appreciated.

The new r9-290x cards look sick, wish i could trade this for that. Also then 780ti's are going to be killer when they come out....until the r9-290x ghz edition comes out lol
