I built this as my first gaming desktop. I used a couple things I had around and bought stuff open-box, on sale, and from sellers on ebay. (Some sellers were certainly better than others). It runs so fast I can't believe it. I have never had a pc I was so proud of, and it was even better because I built it myself. Through a lot of trial and error of course. Windows is still not activated but I am looking into that.
Edit 1: Per a suggestion I got another case fan added onto the build. The system still runs pretty cool so the effects were minimal but hopefully it extends the life of the other fans.
I also performed some maintenance on the cable situation, and while it is not perfect it does look much nicer.
Edit 2: Still building it up. Works fantastic, and games are a great pleasure to play on this rig. Bought a new monitor from Amazon: the Asus VP249QGR. Absolutely gorgeous monitor overall, and it has majorly enhanced my pc experience.
