If you get some money invest in an aftermarket CPU cooler because the stock one can't really cool the Haswell chips.
And of course it will allow you to overclock it!
The CPU cooler is the next thing I will be getting after a monitor.
Good build! I would recommend getting an SSD in the future, for faster boot-up.
Unlocked CPU with no OC or non-stock CPU cooler? Did you upgrade to Windows 8.1? What keyboard and monitor do you use? How are your temps?
Just curious. +1
I will be getting a CPU cooler soon. Still using Windows 8. I'm using a friends old Razer Lycosa keyboard until I buy my own. I don't have a monitor yet so I am using a TV for a few weeks. My temps are updated on here now.
you got a really good price on that psu +1
Nice and I lean towards the recommending of an aftermarket CPU cooler like the others. doesn't hurt to cool it more right? :P Goodjob
+1 for being a fractalbro.
Amazing build man, The only thing I can fault is the cable management, its easy in the r4 look at my build! Once that is sorted then you've got a monster.
Get an aftermarket heatsink too! :)
I tied the cables together to get them out of sight. I'll have to update the picture.
How are you liking the GPU and MOBO?
Just some points... after market fan and a better psu. Ik its cheaper but u need and least 80 plus bronze especially w/ that beast card. Ive seen a power supply explode irl before. Its bad dude. i think the only thing my friend saved was the proccesor becuz it was covered by his cooler.
It's a seasonic that IS 80 PLUS Bronze. Shouldn't have any problem there.
80+ is an efficency rating, not a quality rating, but I doubt the psu will explode, I mean, it's a fricking seasonic! Awesome build, good job getting such a quiality build under $1000. That will last you a long time. I think you should go with one of the aio water coolers, for better cooling and more overclockability, maybe a CM hyper 212, or even a custom loop to keep that video card cool too!
Are you going to get a after market CPU cooler? Otherwise you kind of wasted money on the K edition of the i5. Other than that, solid build.
He's probably saving money at first or on the fence about overclocking. No reason to get a non-K if he thinks he might OC. That'd just pidgeon-hole him into not OCing. The 4670K has higher stock clocks speeds anyways.
