Description

This is my first ever build and I'm happy to say that it was a success. I will be mainly using this computer for gaming and school work. Since my monitor and operating system have not arrived, via amazon, I will have to update you guys on the computers status and how it works on idle and such. Feel free to leave comments and critique me!

Nice build. One questions, why did you spend the money on an unlocked CPU and then get a motherboard which does not support overclocking?

Lol thats so true

Mostly because I wasn't planning on overclocking my cpu due to the fact that I'm not comfortable doing that without proper cooling, which I plan to upgrade in the future, but for now it will get the job done.

Not sure what Mariomash is talking about but you can overclock with an H97 board. I have an Asus H87m and I can overclock.

Oh good! Thank you for that info

I think some board manufacture unlocks it for overclocking but I could be wrong. All I know is that I overclocked my i5 4670k on my Asus H87m-E MB to 4.2Ghz no problem.

BTW I have the same case but the black version.

Why the 4670k instead of devils canyon? It's cheaper for more performance

I just got the most popular cpu on pc part picker.

why choose the 270x instead of the 280? The 280 has dropped dramatically in price and performs better. I just upgraded from the MSI 270x to the sapphire 290 and couldnt be happier

What ended up happening with this build was I received my friends old gpu for free ( I know I put the price on the build like I bought it but I figured people would still like to know the actual value of the pc)

oh oh i see. im looking to sell my 270x lol and was gonna ask 150

You can get a new R7 270X for $160. You'll be lucky to get $120 unless your GPU looks brand new.

You build is pretty similar to my own

good work ive got the same case in black has been really easy to work with plus plenty of room. Sounds like a good friend to gift you the GPU. Only thing I will say is SSD? That storage device seems on the expensive side as well.

Yea after buying it I saw how inexpensive other hard drives were compared to the one I bought. SSD is also something I will most likely add to the build in the future.
