Description

This is my current gaming setup. It was initially built in April 2012 with the exception of the second video card, which was added last year ( found one for a good deal on ebay), the optical drive which i installed after I discovered that it would not fit in my HTPC i built last year, and the QNIX which i picked up about 8 months ago. I definitely made a questionable call skimping out on the power supply, but thankfully it hasn't bitten me in the ***! The hard drives are listed at 0 because the 1TB was given to me from an old job and the 500GB was salvaged from a broken laptop. I've had no problems with the build aside from wishing for more cable management space behind the mobo and a slightly longer mobo power cable, but i did what i could :D

looking back 2 years, RAM was so cheap and SSDs were not

How do those 2 GPUs handle 1440p gaming?

pretty good thus far. gets a solid 60 on arkham city and bioshock infinite only nearly max settings and over 150 on league of legends even with all the fps drops people are having lately on it. I had it overclocked to 110Hz, but i was having issues with resuming from sleep after overclocking so i reverted back for now. i hit the jackpot with that monitor for sure though; no dead pixels or backlight bleed and amazing overclock capabilities.

not bad! im sure that would translate to playable framerates on more demanding games (if you play them) like BF4 or Metro: LL

i played the bf beta a bit and got ~30 at high settings, but it's not my type of game so i never bought the full game. metro and crysis are two on my list i'd like to try and see just how far i can push these cards. i'm likely not gonna max out much of anything, but i'm content with medium-high settings until i have a budget for a new system.

its also quite a bit older than a 770. it gets respectable framerates at 1440. sure it isnt the best but for what i paid and its age, it is perfectly reasonable. also, there is no need to be rude.

Very nice, I like seeing these Sandy Bridge builds. I'm still going strong with my 2500K too.
