Description

This build is for gaming while on "business travel". I spend about 60% away from home on travel in Taiwan for work, so I decided to build another SFF to leave in my hotel. This Chopin build is actually an intermediate step until my Velkase Velka 3 ships in December 2019.

I don't need too much performance out of this rig, since the monitor that I use in Taiwan is only 75 Hz. In Fortnite with 1080p and Low settings, I can get 75 FPS with the 3400G (but have recently having some frame drops maybe due to temps). In contrast, I get about 160 FPS with my Dan A4 build with mostly Epic settings, and that gameplay is so nice and crisp on my 144Hz monitor at home.

Since I will be moving the majority of these components to the Velka 3 in the future, I would like to add in maybe a 1660 Super or 5500 once it releases just to give me some buffer over 75 FPS.

Unfortunately, I eventually found out that max output of the video from the mobo is 60Hz, so I ended up capping my game FPS to 60. Before starting up a game, I use ASUS' utility to set the fan to 100%. When I run like this, I usually don't have any problems.

Doubt it would be temps, 3400g is not known for running hot even with wraith fan. You even have a Noctua.

Yeah don’t think you will have temp problems with a noctua
