Description

A new build from scratch for online gaming. Only issues i've had so far is not being able to OC the ram to its rated speed. With the processor/MB combo the best i've got the ram to clock so far is 2666. The GPU and CPU both OC like champs. I'm running the CPU at a solid 4.4 all the time and have tried 4.6 with no issues but didn't feel i needed to leave it clocked at 4.6 all the time yet as i see minimal gains. With the cpu clocked at 4.4 and overclocking the GPU i get benchmarks on 3DMark in the high 18k range. The GPU has yet to cross 70 degrees celsius even while OCed so i still have room to go further and possibly break into the 19k range on firestorm benchmark. Would love some comments on the build since i've been away so long sure i have room to improve this.

In terms of things to improve, definitely some cable management, also you should take your computer off that carpet, that could be hazardous for your pc as well as keeping it from staying as cool. Put your pc on a flat wooden board since it looks like your desk wont fit it. Also, you should remove those hdd cages on the bottom if you are not using them to free up slots for 120mm fans and better airflow.

The computer is actually sitting on plexiglass and not on the carpet and i've changed desks since the picture. I've also redone some of the cable management when i opened it to check on some connections and see how much dust is accumulating in the case. Thats a great idea with the fans and i will probably do that this weekend. I'll probably update the pictures after that.

oh ok, I had to squint to see the Plexiglas haha. yeah I thought I would just let you know since I also have the 750D as my case and I have all 8 fans installed in all the slots for them.

Did you buy the ram in separate kits as the parts list?

Yes it's the same part but two different colors. I had only installed the one set in the picture because one set showed up a day later for some unknown reason.

That explains your RAM OC problems, never mix kits as they are binned to work together as a set... Also 32GB on 3000 is quite a lot for an IMC that's technically rated for 2133, certainly possible but will depend on your CPU and say need a little tweaking :)
