Description

This was put together after some eBay deals, trades and leftover parts. I listed the prices that I paid for the original parts before trades. I swapped a B250 board with a G4560 and 8gb of ram for the 8350, Sabertooth and 16gb. The only game from my library that this PC can't max out 1080p on Ultra is Wildlands. I have a mild overclock on both the CPU(4.5ghz) & GPU(1.4ghz) with more of a focus towards quiet operation. I'm very happy with the way this computer came out, though I do not like the aesthetics of the Sabertooth. I stickerbombed the PSU shroud and 5.25" bay covers and then painted the top fin of the CPU cooler white. I will eventually move my Ryzen parts to this case once I get an AM4 ATX motherboard.

Were the stickers custom made from you, or did you go to the store and buy random stickers. If they were custom made how did you make them?

Digging the sticker job, and even though I'm on Intel atm, I've always rooted for team red. +1

Hey I recently upgraded my PC. I had a r7 260x and a fx 4300. I now have a gtx 1060 6 gb. Do you think a fx 8350 would be a good upgrade. Its kinda expensive to upgrade to Ryzen becuase a mobo, cpu, and ram is at least $300. Ive seen the fx around 120. Also I have a 430 watt power supply. Do you think its a good idea?

You may need to upgrade your psu. I just picked up an 8350 on ebay, and i need a new psu because i also have a 430w, and i did the build list on here and it was around 380ish watts, with a r7 265. That doesnt include boost and the power your pc will drink while gaming. Awesome gpu upgrade, though. Heres my build list if you're curious https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jkVDd6

I'm digging what you did with the sticker bombing. Makes me want to scoop this case up and try a build with it.

I got the idea from someone on reddit awhile ago and it dawned on me when I was staring at the large black PSU shroud that I was dying to do something with, lol. It's a great case, highly recommended especially if you get it for the usual sale price of $40.

If it was just for gaming only I would have stuck with the Pentium G4560 as Kabylake is ahead of piledriver in IPC by about 55%. Most games really care about single core performance and that FX cpu would need to hit a clock speed of ~5.4GHz to match the G4560 3.5GHz for single core performance. That CPU will likely overclock to 4.4 or 4.5ghz on that cooler.

That FX cpu should have better multicore speed for tasks that can take advantage of multiple cores though but most games (except for a few) wont.

Still a really clean looking build and the stickers were a great choice for aesthetics.

Thanks for your comment, but you're not telling me anything I don't already know. This was mainly for fun and for tinkering around with. The trade was from a coworker and I knew I was taking a slight performance hit as far as games go but I wanted to mess around with the Sabertooth. I have also been wanting to build in this case (it's been sitting for awhile) and the thought of using a dinky micro-atx B250 board with a stock intel cooler in it would leave me cringing inside, lol.
