Works great, running the 4690k at 4.6 (it is stable at 4.7 but the heat/voltage are more than I want to run anything at for any period of time.)
Looks nice. enjoy gaming! Might want to check the RAM kist you selected, they seem to be a bit off
the red set of ares 1600 should be the blue one, but otherwise they are the right ones. I had the 1600 laying around but it's running at 1866 matching stock timings of the 1866 set I bought for this build.
Nice build! I'd probably take my 4690k that high as well if I didn't have air cooling. What would you rate your parts, though? It would be interesting to think of them.
Yeah, I had mine at 4.3 on a 212 evo while I waited for the Liqtech 240 to show up.
If I were to start back from scratch I'd probably go with the z97x-UD5H black or something similar from another brand for the few extra features and slightly cleaner look. That and I'd have waited the extra paycheck and gone for a 290x or 970 because who has ever said they didn't want a higher end GPU? Might have gone for an R5 but that was a month wait when I bought the case and I got the R4 half off.
But overall it's an 8/10 for me (10/10 for what I paid and the fact that this is my replacement for a garbage Lenovo i3-2130 prebuilt I used for a year or two)
Nice cable management.
dat cable manage
This is how you do cable management. I can only image what a freakshow it is behind the mobo tray :P
It's about 30ish zip ties back there, I've taken every cable out and started from scratch three times now trying to make the back better. I don't know why it bothers me so much. Obsession over the little things is why I don't have a windowed case.
Perfection IS an obsession.
How well is the Enermax cooler working?
very nice, i have almost the same build!
I mean, BOTH have CPU's!
and 16GB of RAM!
and a Z97 mobo!
and a video card!
and a Define R4!
and an 850W PSU!
and a monitor!
and a water cooler!
and an operating system!
Seriously though, I see no similarities other than the case.
Did the fan next to your psu fit the mounting holes? Also what size fan is it?
it is a 120 and it lines up perfectly with the 120 mounting holes there, at least with the cables I need for the semi-modular power supply
Ok, I got a 140mm but between the psu and the hard drive cage it couldn't line up with the holes. Sooooo double stick tape
yeah I was originally going to have a 140 there and a 120 in the back, but had to swap them because I couldn't quite get a 140 in with the placement of the mounting holes.
