Description

Hello everyone !

I am honored to present you this extremely clean, yet powerful build. The goal here was to offer something delivering an enjoyable gaming experience while staying "simple". This means, almost no RGB, but instead a totally black build, with the GTX 1080 Ti from Gigabyte standing out with its bright white color.

The case has no window, but this PC is meant for people who do not want a constant light show in their gaming room (yes, they still exist :p)

Part Reviews

CPU

Really nice CPU for its price. We don't have much to say that has not already been said thousand times. Works like a charm.

CPU Cooler

It is quiet, it is sexy, it is not too bulky, it has nice perfs, what else do we want ?

Motherboard

Stunning motherboard, it looks really clean while still having this "gaming" spirit. There is no LED on every cm2, instead we get a really nice looking "RGB angle" at the top left.

Storage

It boots Windows in a couple of seconds and has just enough space for the OS and a few demanding programs. The perfect point between price and fonctionnality in our opinion.

Storage

It is an HDD, from the best brand in our opinion.

Yes that's all.

Video Card

At first, we were a bit sceptical about putting a white GPU in a totally black system, but it turned out to looks absolutely amazing. But it lacks a backplate, which is quite surprising for a high-end graphic card, but it doesn't matter that much in our case, since the case has no window (pun intended). It's a great GPU for a silent build.

Case

A "basic" case, but with a lot of room to work with in. Cable management is a pleasure to do there, even if straps (like Phantek's one) would be a really nice addition for better cable management.

Keep in mind that there is very little room for the PSU and its cables, since the drives bay is right next to them.

Power Supply

Great quality while not being over-expensive

Typical high end rigs are so common that they don't wow me anymore.

This one is different because of how clean and elegant it is! +1.

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

Thank you very much !

iAmAustiano 2 points 2 months ago

You know, this build is very refreshing from all the other flashy builds. Clean and simple, been working since the dawn of time. Great job!

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

That's what we thought when we decided to put these parts together ! Thank you !

iAmAustiano 0 points 2 months ago

10/10.

Khaosix 19 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

I love when photographers build computers.

A classic example of a clean build; from the parts list, to the color, to the execution.

Perfect.

+1

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

I got to say that I am not the photographer, we have photographers hired to take the pictures. ^

Thank you for the nice comment and the support !

MjolnirThunder 2 points 2 months ago

Classy af. I gotta ask though, why the 1000W PSU?

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 0 points 2 months ago

Because it is meant to be future proof if the customer wants to add another GPU for a SLI.

MjolnirThunder 0 points 2 months ago

That makes a lot more sense. I wasn't aware this build was for a client.

akamute1 5 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

really nice, clean build. a black card would of been better though

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

We love it this way ! :)

akamute1 5 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

at the end of the day, that's all that matters

Sheebs 2 points 2 months ago

First off, great pictures. Good to see a Non-Linusified featured build :) I'm glad that small form factor builds are coming into style.

cacheconley 2 points 28 days ago

I am going to attempt to build this PC. The only difference is I'm getting a 500 GB instead of 250. Any tips or tricks for this particular build? I've never built a PC before, but I've watched some videos. Thanks!

milkyv2 2 points 26 days ago

I'm looking at both the same CPU cooler and RAM. Did you have any clearance issues mounting the CPU cooler because of the RAM?

daslolo 3 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

how is the flex on the case?

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

You mean the flex on the panels ?

daslolo 3 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

flex on the inner frame when panels are off

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

It stays in place ? :p Not saggy at all, but we didn't try to shake it like crazy.

Boz 1 point 2 months ago

I do believe this will be my next build.

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

You will not regret it !

LawandHijinks 1 point 2 months ago

I just purchased this exact setup from your suggestions. Awesome build! Seems really sleek and powerful too.

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Glad to hear ! You will not regret it, it looks elegant and is powerfull at the same time !

Renfist 1 point 2 months ago

I love it! It's what I will most likely do on my next build. I work nights and get home sometimes around 3 a.m. I wouldn't dream of building an rgb build my wife would destroy me :D. Congrats on the feature.

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

I totally understand ! :p

Thank you for the support !

SirHalpin 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

fantastic build. Simple, powerful, and clean; all you can ask for. +1

lets not pretend this GPU is a quiet one though...

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

Thank you for the support !

There are way more noisier GPU out there. .. HAVE YOU EVER TRIED A R9 290X ? (shouting because the noise is too loud)

SirHalpin 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

well, that's true. but this is the latest-gen NVidia GPUs, top of the line, is my point

customgtp 15 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

I just got that same card yesterday. Lowest price ti available right now and still looks great!!

Anyansayo 1 point 2 months ago

This is the second build that I have seen that has photos that look professionally taken. Great parts that you chose to work with (Other than some minor things that I'd rather have something else) and the color scheme looks great. Very clean.

And now for the questions. Why didn't you do an AIO liquid cooler of some sort instead of the air cooler? Why did you use a 1000 Watt PSU? What peripherals are you going to use. What display are you going to use that all powerful GPU on? And what kind of things do you plan on running on it?

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

Thank you for your comment. :)

This PC has been built for customers, as we run a PC shop. The pictures look professionally taken because they are actually professionally taken, by real photographers hired for this. Our other builds that we posted on PCPP are also taken by professionals.

We didn't go with an AIO on this built because the Dark Rock 3 is powerfull enough to take care of that 7700k. Also, it let us sell this machine for a bit less, with almost no difference in term of performance. The 1000W PSU is used because we want these builds to be future proof if the customer want to add another GPU for a SLI configuration. About the peripherals, display and things running on it, we do not know, as these PC are not built for us ^

Anyansayo 1 point 2 months ago

Okay. Thanks for the quick reply. Have you been doing the build and sell thing for a while or is it just using PCPP is relatively new for you? (I looked at your profile and noticed that this is your third build and just now wondered)

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

We just did not have the time to post there lately, but more builds are coming here soon :)

SlickShoes17 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

This is awesome. Love the black theme! Fits so well in that case too!

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Thank you ! Yes, it looks really nice that way !

DflippinK 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Bosswoman3 1 point 2 months ago

I dub thee case the dark knight. Now go and strike fear into the heart of your enemies. Great work on the build

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Thanks !

Bosswoman3 1 point 2 months ago

Your welcome

Pydariax 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

some sleeved white cables will be so nice in thsi build

Amazing build :D

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

It would not be really useful, since the case has a closed panel with no window ^

thederpyderpman857 1 point 2 months ago

More pics please? Haven't you already been featured?

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Yes, one of our builds has been featured in the past.

Wi1dCard2210 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Isn't there no side panel on the 400Q? I mean I love a flat black look but there doesn't seem to be a reason to use the leds on the card.

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

There is no window on the side panel, but if a graphic card/motherboard performs well, we will not refrain from using it just because it has LED that are not visible without opening the case :p

Wi1dCard2210 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Of course, I just got confused when I saw the picture focusing on the gigabyte logo.

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

It was just an "artistic" picture :)

GylesTech 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

I think the camera is the real star of the show here today.

Lovely build.

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Thanks !

Tyler70 1 point 2 months ago

this would look better if it had corsair lighting node pro led strips everywhere like mine and 6x hd 120 rgb fans lol. plus rgb gpu, mobo, and cpu cooler lol. yes I'm a rgb person

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Everyone has different taste.

Also note that the GPU and the motherboard both have RGB LED

mountaindew1 1 point 2 months ago

he graphic he reboot but most importantly he PC please kill me now

DWfanboi 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

I like how the white GPU stands out from the rest of the silver and black PC

Good work and good pictures!

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Thank you very much !

flukehawkins 1 point 2 months ago

I've been trying to build a featureless black box computer much like this one with one big difference:

Why the 400Q instead of the 600Q?

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

Because the 600Q is way too big in our opinion for this build.

kfares 1 point 2 months ago

amazing pictures nice build

flat1ander 1 point 1 month ago

Awesome looking build! I'm considering this for my first true build (been on a Best Buy special for a few years now and time to upgrade big time!). I'm wondering if I could sub out the GTX 1080TI for another one since the one you picked is showing as out of stock. Are the 1080TI's all essentially the same size? Sorry for such a beginner question, thanks!

Skraydd submitter 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

This one is pretty nice because it takes only 2 slots. Most of other models (like the Asus Strix, the Gigabyte Extreme one, etc...) are 2.5 slots, which is less convenient for SLI. Except that, they are all almost the same size. If you are not planning to add a second card for SLI, you can pick whichever looks the best to you :)
