Description

This was my first build I designed with light/medium gaming. Running Fortnite BR it can churn out up to 120 fps and still run smooth. I opted to use the stock fan that came with the AMD Ryzen 5 because it is able to maintain steady temps under load. If you want to liquid cool, I would highly recommend doing, as there is lots of space under the GPU and to the right of the vertical LED panel. If you do decide to do this build you need to install the GPU prior to the network adapter and loosen a screw on the network adapter because it has the tendency to block the GPU fan. I did this and the system runs smoothly with no hassle.

how do you like your gpu, runs quiet? love the simplicity!

I would have chosen a better motherboard, like the MSI Tomahawn ATX board. But other than that, you have a great build here

he is building matx here, so while I won't try and argue that this board is excellent, there aren't too many matx boards that are significantly better but not significantly more expensive.

WheatFarmer337 1 point 4 months ago

Yeah, but his case is full ATX. He doesn't need to limit himself to mATX. The ATX B350 boards tend to be a bit better, especially the MSI boards

I had forgotten that this was atx... that naming scheme is ridiculous imo.

Really Nice colour scheme. That case looks great. Re the other issues:

I'd always spec a MoBo with a Wifi network adaptor inbuilt when you know you're going to need it - really tidies the build up. It does add a bit of cost (often less than a stand alone card, but AMD boards are less easy to find with wifi than coffee-lake Intel boards as it's baked into the chipset on those), but of course it simplifies the build and removes the need for an add on card.

If you just got a cheap set of white cable extensions it would hugely tidy up your cables on the visible side! They're under £30 a full set from Amazon.

And finally, a pair of 120mm fans on the front would really fill out the case and help force some air through the case.

I have nearly the same build other than the storage. Awesome starter set up in my opinion. And I would recommend a better RAM, G.Skill Trident RGB Series (2x8gb).

crucial ballistix ram is just fine what he needs is faster ram to boost the performance he can get out that ryzen cpu. i also have the ryzen 5 1600 and 3000mhz seems to be the sweet spot for that chip. ive overclocked my gskill ripjaw 4 series 3000mhz cl15 ram to 3200mhz and only seen about 2 more points increased performance in cinebench so i just dropped it back to 3000mhz cl15 and let it do its thing. so point being your ram is fine bro but if you can overclock any higher id recommend doing so. ryzen chips love fast ram :)

The Ryzen 5 1600 in my opinion is the best ram rn for its price. But i personally like more RAM for gaming and plus RGB looks better haha....

pcp1989 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

ya totally..the more the merrier:) picking up two more sticks in a week or two myself, will give me 16gb's so cant wait for that :)

DropEm2k 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

nice i got 16gb rn G.Skill Trident Z series

pcp1989 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

noice :) i really like the rgb set and the silver non rgb set too. but the ripjaws 4 series was blue and at the time i beleive it was cheaper too so i went with those instead. next build be getting the rgb tridents for sure lol

JDR_EZ1 1 point 4 months ago

Ep_ic 1 point 4 months ago

Can you tell me all the games u play and what fps they run at? thank you

RapidGaming2006 1 point 4 months ago

why don't u do a 1060 6gb with that?

Clean build! I'd recommend some G.Skill Trident Z Ram and maybe some silent 120mm intake fan by be quiet! for front mount maybe. Besides that, i really like what you did here!

IngeniousTinkerer 2 points 4 months ago

He probably isn't going to replace his ram when he already has some, especially in a "Under 1k Build" when a boot SSD would be a better investment.

cudyyy 2 Builds 3 points 4 months ago

true that. Especially at current prices, a good idea.
