Disclaimer: I apologize for horrible photography, blame iPhone 3gs

So this build was a present for my 13th birthday in May of 2013 (yes this late). I was so pleased when it was completed as I had done so much research for about 4 months and had sold my previous laptop in order to get enough money for this. It was really fun learning so much about PCs along the way though and now I hope to keep improving this build over time each year.

So on to the build itself. I had a budget in the range of RM3600 ($1000 RM is the currency of Malaysia.) So I went straight for the standard i5 4670, I didn't get the K version for 2 reasons

1) I don't see myself overclocking anytime soon

2) it wasn't in stock at my local PC center

It has been great so far, I kept the stock cooler because I don't overclock, silent so far and no heat issues.

The Mobo is fantastic, as well as looking great through the cases' window, the Bios is easy to navigate and very nice.

The GPU is my favorite part of the build. It has been pumping out great frames at a clock of 1055mhz and runs FarCry 3 on max settings with no problems at all. It also has the beautiful signature red stripes of Asus which are very aesthetically pleasing. It is totally silent and keeps at around 60-80 Celsius when under stress even when Oc'd.

The SSD is great. I installed windows 7 on it and the PC boots in around 7-8 seconds. All games I have installed on it start up extremely fast and load levels very quickly.

The PSU may be a bit overkill however we know haswell CPUs loves to suck up power. As well as this I would love to have some headroom for future upgrades. (looking at a 770).

I would like to end with thanking everyone at PC part picker for helping me with what I thought was impossible, never in a million years did i think I would not only be able to build a PC but also have such a level of understanding of how a PC works.

THANK YOU FROM MALAYSIA

Why that Z87 with a locked CPU?

In the future I will upgrade the CPU to an unlocked version

Why not just spend the extra £10-20 now rather than spending £170 in the future? Or get a unlocked cpu with a b85 motherboard? Saves you more money;)

As I explained in the build description, the store did not have the unlocked version at the time.

You do know there are other stores available? But I get your point.

-1 for that comment.... we don't diss peoples work on here bro, you don't have to like everything but give advice and help him instead of just straight up writing something negative with no reason why.
