Description

Used for games like skyrim borderlands 2 swtor eve online. Cable mangement is a bit random but it looks neat from the front Few problems using my copy of windows 7 from my old rig (was dodgy) so had to buy a new copy apart from that no problems, very happy for my first solo build 1tb drive for games 500gb drive from my old rig as a media drive for my films and music. UPDATES added a NZXT fan controller, got rid of that old motherboard and got the sexy new msi Z97 gaming 7 now i can add a second GPU which lets face it i proberly will very soon just waiting for the right deal and some wages. Got some crazy blue led's cos a bright red case was clearly not standout enough. Got some led fans for fun but turns out their much quieter at 100% than my old ones were at 40% so happy with that. The OC genie button on the mother board works alot better that i thought it would press it switch it on it says im running at 4.0 ghz now but havnt really checked it properly to see if thats a true reading or not. Got a push/pull now aswell took a few case modifications the holes in the rad and in the case didnt line up so i just drilled some more holes. I know i got too many fans for what i need but that's no t really a bad thing better to many than not enough.

I'm surprised more people don't use the NZXT Phantom, its such a great case.

Me I am a HUGE fan of DEXTER, loved that show, also love the case and build, well maybe except for the MOBO not accepting SLI... +1

I like the fans in pull on your rad, so much easier to clean it. Nice build.

+1 good build except for the fact that you bought an Nvidia GPU and you have a mobo that doesn't support SLI. Looks like no SLI for you. :( Great build nonetheless.

It's refreshing to see a different color case. Nice build man

I'm not sure of it but I have strong hunch that you like the color red. Am I correct in assuming this? ;)

RED MY WORST ENEMY!! All jokes aside this is an awsome build. +1

Great build my friend, I have the same box but white. How do like the side fan? does it get loud?

Nicely done, but please don't put your motherboard on top of the antistatic bag it came in. The way most antistatic bags works is the outside actually attracts electrons so that the inside wouldn't. If you build on top of the bag, you have an even greater change of shorting the board out than usual.

Nice build, i was just wondering if the PSU is worth the money because I am looking at it for my build.

I've got the same PSU in my build, definitely worth getting. It has this feature where the fan doesn't turn on until it gets to a certain wattage to prevent unnecessary noise. It's in with a 4690K, a Gigabyte 280X, and a Corsair H105. Got it on sale at Newegg :D

Me being a newbie, has some questions.

I heard the i5 doesn't overclock. Is there some ulterior benefit for liquid cooling a CPU that won't overclock?

  • 2 points

Take it from me it does overclock it a 4670K not a 4670

To be honest only went with the red because White wasn't available for another 14 days, even building it I was unsure but looking now I love it and mobo is something I'm looking into for future planning

Yeah, it looks GORGEOUS from the front, but the back could be a lot better with a few cable ties. ($0.02 a piece at harbor freight)
