Description

I built this rig in February. After many years of wanting to build a computer i decided to go at it. I tried to do research but i mostly winged it. I was told to get an 1000watt psu =(. I have learned many things from this. This was suppose to be a gaming/ work station computer. I use it to video edit and photoshop as well as gaming. It has served well. I am looking forward to my next build.

Go find the person who told you to get 1000W and do us a favor, will you? =D

pretty decent build though

This decent build for what was available in Feb, even if you spent a bit to much on PSU and RAM, its still a decent machine and one to be appreciated. The 1000W PSU does give you the option for SLI in the future if you want to splash out on some current gen top range cards.

This is waste of money. You should have gotten a 550W power supply ( or a bit more if you need to do some upgrade later and don't want to change PSU ), decreased in the case and in RAM memory and increased in graphic card.

Nice build, apart from the obvious 1kw psu is overkill :P Doesnt really do any harm though and if you ever build a much more power hungry system you can always swap it over.

RAM is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to much. 16 gigs, even 8 would have done you fine. Also how does the 550ti in the picture work with games like BF3, FC3, etc.

Wondering if you had any issues with your components. I want to do a build with the same CPU, motherboard, ram, and cooler. Pertaining to the Ram and Motherboard I am unable to ensure compatibility on either manufacturer's website.
