CPU: AMD FX-6300 Processor (3.5Ghz) - Very happy with the CPU, runs super cold at Idle and reasonable temps at load. I don't notice any problems attributable to the cpu
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 - Since the Hyper 212 can't fit the case this is the closest approximation. Works great. saw probably close to 5C drop in temps on both the high and low over the stock cooler. I also saw a boost in my Unigine score by 10%. It really pulled the whole build together when I added it (updated pics to come soon). Unfortunately a panel fan is no longer an option as it conflicts with the cooler position Motherboard: AsRock 970M Pro3 Motherboard -Nothing to complain about, nice to build with, nice black color.
Graphics: MSI Radeon R7 265 2Gb - Most games run at 30fps on High to Very High settings at 1080p very comfortably, with the most recent games having occasional moments where it reduces to 20fps but returns to 30fps as soon as the action slows down. If you switch to 720p you will average 47fps with even higher settings. Non graphic intensive games, like League of Legends, will run at 60fps easily. However, would I have the choice again I would get a different card - the fan on this card is loud beyond belief, and it's essentially necessary to be on full to run those specs during games. The only work around is headphones which solve the problem.
Memory: Patriot 8Gb (2x4Gb) - Didn't realize these were low profile, nice surprise but doesn't matter to me either way. Work as imagined
PSU: Corsair CX500 -No major issues. Does blow pretty hot air, but may be due in part to warm air inside the case as there was no vent for the intake on the outside.
Storage: WD 1Tb Blue HDD 7200rpm - Haven't used it yet, waiting to put windows on it.
Case: Fractal Core 1100 - Exterior looks great! However the HDD mounting bracket is really stupid. The SATA power cables is really bent over itself from the way it has to be installed and still shut the panel. And you can only really install 2 drives if one of the drives is 2.5 inch otherwise you get major issues with the graphics card
Asus DVD drive - Makes a loud click and buzz sound when it activates and opens
Arctic Case Fans - Work well with nice airflow, definitely quieter then what I had in there before.
I got this mainly to practice and give myself something to do while unemployed after graduation. I plan to sell this off as soon as I can and make a little money on the side. Gotta work my way up until my core build can be paid for. But comparing the specs to my 3 year old HP is tempting, especially as I keep tweaking the build, but not yet.
All around great looking case. it is easy to work in. However, the hard drive mounting configuration is terrible. With a graphics card you can only fit one 3.5" HDD. 2.5" drives are recommended and even then it's rough. Other than that, good case
