Description

In 2014 I had a 4670K, 8GB ram, and 660Ti for my first build and was happy with the performance. After the Node 202 & SF600 were released I felt like upgrading everything

CPU: didn't need it but I saw a deal on Craigslist

CPU Cooler: was getting 75°C in Fallout 4 with the stock Intel cooler while the Noctua runs about 10° cooler

Memory: don't use this computer for anything productive but eh 16 gigs for $60 might as well

Storage: Windows 10 boots in 6 seconds with fast-boot disabled

Power Supply: previously had a Silverstone 500W 80+ and wanted something more efficient. I gave up on managing these flat cables..too eager to power it on

Monitor: very bad blb but dat price

You already got the SF600? Please tell us how it performs, and if it's silent too.

pandacivilization submitter 1 Build 2 points 32 months ago

It is silent. Sorry I'm not informed about power supplies so I can't comment much but it can run the gpu at 1329 MHz

Should be a very good PSU. The noise is a definite factor with these SFX psus, that's why I ordered the st45sf (bronze) since it had the best reviews for noise from silverstone's lineup.

The sf600 just got released after I made the order, and tho I haven't received the st45sf still, i can't replace it since i think it will be enough and the sf600 isn't available here yet.

The problem with new psu's is that you can't know how they'll perform and how reliable they will be until some time has passed and people have had the time to test them, reviews be written and etc.

That aside tho I believe the SF600 will be a great unit and a milestone for SFX. Real good choice there. On the cables, I am a bit disappointed they don't bend very well but I guess some custom cable kits can take care of that in the future.

I was looking at bluebrandon's Node 202/SF600 build and his cables look so neat! So it's possible, I just suck haha This is my first corsair product but I've seen nothing but good reviews for their power supplies

My case just arrived and man have I got some cool things to show :D Already made a dust filter up top, and a custom GPU bracket for use with 2 intake fans.

Will post the build when I assemble it tomorrow or the day after. I'll maybe even do a live stream. I have the 450w bronze from silverstone and I am determined to do a perfect cable management hahah.

And still I doubt it'll come close to bluebrandon's :D That looks neat!

What'd you use to make the top filter? Lemme know how it goes. The worst part about building for me was removing the bottom of the case; i thought the plastic clips were gonna snap off

Ill take that old case off your hands for 35 bucks.

pandacivilization submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

I gave it to my bro. Check out the elite 130 case?

Jhobbster 1 Build 2 points 32 months ago

Lol alright I just cant find a white one.

Trav_X 1 point 31 months ago

Because the white one is an Elite 120. 130's don't come in white as far as I know.

Nice lil build. Awesome steal on that gpu.

pandacivilization submitter 1 Build 2 points 32 months ago

Thanks. I told myself to wait for pascal but Amazon deals made me cave

bobdude_01 3 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

Wow, you got a good deal on that i7! No reason to not get it right? +1

pandacivilization submitter 1 Build 3 points 32 months ago

For real, hope its more future proof than an i5

Trav_X 1 point 31 months ago

Devil's Canyon i7 should last you quite a long time ;) even considering the fact it's not a K-series chip, it's still quite powerful.

pandacivilization submitter 1 Build 3 points 31 months ago

I don't wanna upgrade for at least a year--can't eat ramen noodles forever

Holy cow! That price on the gpu!

Did you get it off of someone that stole it?

Got my upvote.

pandacivilization submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

I have this site to thank! I kept browsing 980s filtered by lowest price and then bam there it was

S0nny_WarBucks58 3 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

Wow!, That is crazy.

How loud is your PSU, I have hte sf600 also with a 980ti, system idling I hear nothing, but when I game it seems the PSU wants to run the fan at 100%?

pandacivilization submitter 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

I can't hear my psu at all. Like if I put my ear right against it, it's a very low hum. When I'm playing Dark Souls 3 the psu's fan probably isn't at 100%. The scythe fans on the other hand, they're noisy af
