Description

used for watching Netflix and other videos, hence the optical Blu ray. I feel that when building a budget build, AMD is the only processor to be considered. That's no secret though . I do really wish they would stop calling my 8350 an "8 core processor," though. Sure doesn't perform like one, or cost anywhere NEAR what a current 8 core processor would, soooo...... **this is a total budget build, and most these parts we had on clearance at Frys. So by no means am I trying to say it's even really worth looking at... but i got it built for under 600$ and to me it's worth the 60fps my brother gets as opposed to the 30-35 on console

Part Reviews

CPU

Awesome processor for $74.89. However, I purchased mine while they were still in the store(work at Frys Electronics) and they were tagged at 180$. Still not terrible, but they weren't completely honest about the black series (hence the class action lawsuit) and if u ask me, this series is garbage. DO NOT OVERPAY for a black series AMD

Video Card

Very pleased with my 6GB card, this thing has done nothing but perform like a cheetah in the arctic for me. This is coming from somone who has owned QUITE a few cards, and currently have a 3fan 1080TI Strix, which is my fav, but ya, this card is great and u can prob get one for around 200 now days

Wireless Network Adapter

Freakin love these things, who needs ethernet?!?!. I DO suggest the AC3100 version tho, HUGE difference no matter your internet speed

did you get the tin or the cardboard box with the 8350, and doesn't the black version mean you get an unlocked multiplier? I know its mostly bclck oc and FSB for FX, but a multiplier still helps. What's your OC? have you pushed to ~5.2-5.5? you have a great board, and you could make it there.

Yes, you're not wrong and I HAVE thought of it. But again, secondary build, I kind of just got it to post and loaded the preset 4.0 ghz OC in bios. Does what i need to and stays SUPER cool, my other rig i delidded and had up to 5.3ghz on the H150i. Was a tad hot so I clocked it back down to 5.1ghz. It's my pride n joy, go check it out lmk what u think! It's my 8086k Strix completed build....

I'd really only consider buying an 8-Core FX CPU if it was used and came bundled with a motherboard and Ram for ~$100

Yeah man, a total budget build, doesn't get much use, but it's better than an Xbox! Check out my main rig if you want to see an actual build with looking at

Seeing that the processor is worth less than a third of the mobo put me in the hospital. Mismatched ram speeds put me in for a second time. nice TV tho

LoL, its a secondary Frankenstein build, FOR SURE.(lots of clearance items i got that were HEAVILY discounted, I work at Frys Electronics) Built it mainly so i didn't have to jump down to xbox when my brother comes over ;) sorry to cause u health issues kinda does me too..but I love it

why is your mobo almost 3x more expensive that your CPU? lol also I totally agree with what you said about the fx black series. I got mine from Fry's Elctronics as well and it suuuuuuuucked.

Yeah,so I guess no one can see my answers to other ppl or somn..but the mobo is something we had on clearance(work at Frys Electronics) and i actually got it for about 90$. Most these parts are just cheap parts we had on clearance, hence the wierd RAM

This is decent fps/dollar, but you could theoretically get onto a new platform with the same if not better gaming performance for around 400-450 with going with ryzen. Right now you can pick up a 1600 for 116 usd and a 1200 for 74 usd, and put in a new or used gpu for about ~125 if you look for good deals, such as a gtx 980 or 480 as clearance stock (Just picked up a 980 for around 107 after tax)

i agree wholeheartedly. I work at Frys Electronics as a components assistant manager. These were mostly clearance parts i picked up in late 2016. These days Id probably go with the Ryzen 5 2600, or if youre an Intel fanboy, get the 8600k, 9th gen just isnt as good if you ask me, lower multi-thread scores. But KadiusFTW, you should go check out my 8086k build, thats my main rig, pretty proud of that 1 :)
