This build replaces my previous Meshify C 1950x Threadripper build. After using that build for almost two years, I realized what I had was overkill from my workload. I didn't need SLI or expandability. 16-core worked fine but I was begging for better single core performance, since most of the CAD work runs on single or dual core most of the time. All the bing bling of hardline loops got less interesting after a while.

For this new build, I wanted to downsize because I didn't need the expandability and it would also be nice to take up less space and more portable. I was hoping Fractal did a Meshify Nano-S, that would have been perfect, but I chose the Ncase M1 because it's the only other m-ITX case that can do dual 240mm rads and hold a m-DTX board. I was eyeing the Crosshair Impact since Computex. The Ncase has an aluminum industrial look, so I wanted the PC to look like a machine rather than computer. This mean giving up PETG hard tubing and going w/ EPDM tubing, for that industrial look. I used the Iceman res/ddc pump combo, because that "attached" on look fitted in with the scheme. So no more pretty tubes, TG, or special lighting(there are some). I kept the ML120 RGB, but will replace them with the NA-AF15x25 when it comes out in black this year. Otherwise, this build looks like it's all business all the time.

Loop configuration: Reservoir/DDC Pump --> 240 Side Rad --> CPU --> 240 Bottom Rad --> GPU.

I'm debating between the Strix or the Impact for a build that is similar to yours with two rads.

I heard somewhere that the bottom rad and fan maybe conflict with the on board audio card that sits on a standoff on the Impact. Can you please confirm.

If you want a struggle-free build go w/ the Strix. In my build, the bottom rad is not screwed in to the chassis. The rad w/ fans are sandwiched between the chassis, the front I/O cables, sound card daughter board, and the 2080ti VR usb-c port. The fit is super snug and won't move. Luckily, it's vibration-free also.

Amazing - I'm now steering towards the Impact. Unless you're telling me that there are some mild modding required using a dremel haha. Some guy had to dremel off plastic bits of his front Ncase I/O. No dremel needed. The build in the link, it looks like the person wants to use the rails so he/she needed some modding and compromises. If you are worrying about the mounting you can use 3M VHB tape. It's expensive but it's used in building construction and can withstand high temp. https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/vhb-tapes-us/

Do you have the XSPC Ultrathin rad in the bottom? If I count the measurements I think you should be able to fit 25mm fans there as well, instead of the 15mm ones and get better cooling performance?

  • EK-FC RTX 2080 +Ti Classic height: 16.4mm

I was thinking about using that in combination with a Black Ice Nemesis GTX M92 in the back, instead of using the side-bracket with 240 rad.

The 2080ti FE is a two slot because of the VR USB-C port, so you can't fit the 25mm fan.

Your build with the MCase uses the same 3950X and 2080TI that I intend for high end video special effects.

What are the thermals of the CPU and GPU like under load?

In your parts list, you list quite a few alternatives for CPU cooling. For instance, you list 3 case fans. Does that mean all alternatives are fine? Why did you list so many alternatives?

You also list a few custom parts. Did you use all the parts listed?

Do you think this small case, with the 3950X and 2080TI, can be cooled effectively just be air cooling - since you've gone with liquid cooling, at least for the GPU.

I'm attracted to the NCase for its size, but would like to hear about the cooling performance.

Your build is beautiful, congratulations. I would love to replicate this build. I've built many pc's, but not attempted liquid cooling yet. It seems your parts list is mostly complete- is there anything else that is required to build this that is not listed? I would think the tubing + silver connectors, could you tell me please what exactly you used? Thank you!

I don't recommend building this if this is your first time WC. If you spring a leak because of bad installation, you'll be in trouble.

Tubing, I used 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD Tygon A-60-G industrial tubing. I didn't keep track of all the fittings. I just have a lot of different of fittings from previous build. There's a ton of 90 degree rotary(maybe 8), 2 90 degree non rotary, a 45 degree rotary, a few 10 or 20mm extensions, stop fittings, pressure release fitting, and obvious compression fittings.

V6. You can keep the I/O if don't use the bottom radiator rail. See my other response in the comment section.
