Description

TV Computer - First Build

Built this computer for several reasons:

Streaming catchup services such as BBC iPlayer (PS3 sucks at that!),. Play a ton of video games via emulators such as VBA, PCXS2 and ePSXe, Play Steam games like an X-Box with a controller (and Big Picture Mode), Skype via my PlayStation Eye, The fun of building computers,

I know now that this build is seriously impractical, but at the time it seemed awesome!

I am that crazy, it seemed like an awesome idea at the time. Also I was way too generous with the PSU.

I don't need 750W, but I am happy anyway!

Did you actually need and or pay $179.99 for Windows 7 Ultimate?

Great build BTW. can you take some pics of the guts and with the case lights on? Show it off _^

In truth I was naughty and used a cracked copy. I do own a boxed copy of Windows 7 Ultimate with the discs, but I wanted to see how well a cracked copy would work.

Aside from needing RemoveWOT it runs flawlessly.

Pretty good build, but the GPU could be better.

I agree, especially when NVIDIA cards are now being better optimised on Ubuntu.

Still it plays most games on high, flawlessly so I am not arguing too strongly against it.

For your purposes, you could gotten away with a cheaper GPU.

Cheaper CPU, mobo, GPU, case, PSU...

That said, it's a solid all-around gaming machine.
