Description

Updated with pictures of setup after almost a year. It took me this long to get things set up the way I wanted them, for the most part.

I built this system mostly for gaming, and school work. I have 204 games in my steam library, and had been playing on my non-gaming laptop for about 3 years now. Needless to say this is a huge step up, and I am very pleased so far with its performance. I tried to buy everything on somewhat of a budget, and a lot of the parts were accrued over time.

I have the processor overclocked at 4.5ghz at 1.275 volts and it's 100% stable and crash free.

I had accidentally ordered the 3 slot cooler version of the 280x, as the 2 slot had just released and I didn't know which one was newer. It's quiet and plenty powerful for me so no complaints in the end. Overclocking the 280x created more heat in my room than I wanted so I ended up leaving it at a mild 1100mhz.

The monitor was highly rated and I can see why at this price range. It's a great all around monitor, but I'm ordering a Benq 2420Z in the next few weeks, as I primarily play FPS games such as Arma and CS:GO.

My next mission is to do sleeved cables and a custom window in my case. I'm not completely happy with the cable management the way it is and would like to clean it up a bit.

The card you have in the parts list is not the same as the one in the picture did you want that to happen?

It is sir, it's the v2 with the 3 slot Cooler. I liked the backplate and figured the 3 slot would stay cooler.

Thanks! I do plan on getting BF4 most likely around Christmas, but I don't have it yet. The gpu is great so far although I haven't got all of my games installed yet for testing. DayZ runs great though, always above 30 fps recording with very high settings.

since it is the 3 slot version does it stay cool. only thing i dont like about the card is that it has all those display ports and most of the decent monitors that have display ports are high priced which would make it expencive to do dual monitors

So far it hasn't even hit 60 degrees C but Arma isn't super demanding on gpu apparently and that's the only game I've played for a couple hours in one sitting so far. It does have 2 dvi slots, but 3 or more and you need display port : / I think they make adapters though...

Mobo definitely seemed small, but I think it might just be the case... It's a regular ATX, and the case is a Mid-Tower so I don't know lol.
