Description

Pretty much a step up for gaming as my old rig (with i5 2500 cpu) was getting a bit old. Needed to go topish of the line as far as my money got me for the games of now i still play, bf4 etc and for the new games which hopefully it should be future proofed. Noted difference in processor usage down 30% on bf4 already.

BenQ's 144hz, 1080P Monitor looks amazing and has some cool options for software profiling. Great cable management in the adjustable stand and having 2x USB 3.0 is fantastic. Also something to hang my headphones on with the hook attached. Case is fantastic, a bit larger than I thought it would be, But was easy to build inside of. A little but of cable clutter, but supplied cable ties made it a lot cleaner. Had to fit the massive R9 390X inside of a small case was hard but this did it perfectly and with the window looks good, easy to take off side panels as well. Makes it ease to get inside. Power supply runs very quiet, cant hear it run, in fact I don't even think the fan has been going yet. Kraken X61 works great at cooling the processor. this is the only noise I can hear with this rig. still very quiet. All other fans are NZXT and at full power, no noise. Samsung SSD's run super fast.

The r9 390x is a great card for 1080p and making food. Take advantage of those high temps!

That is an awesome monitor. I used it before I switched to 1440p. Good choice!

And nice build!

Thanks guys. And YES its a gaming rig :P All this input so far is positive, thanks for that. Took me 6 moths to figure out the final build that I used. It does get a bit warm in there from the gpu. But with all these fans., the hot air disperses quite well. Overkill on ssd's. Nah bro. 1x programs. 1x games. 1x OS

the gpu can not breath, and that is the hottest version of the r9 390, overall great build

Nice build! I would have gone for the i7 4790k instead, but that comes and goes from each person to another. Maybe a bit of an overkill on the ssd's? Rx 480 is coming out soon, if you get the 8gb version in crossfire, you would see a price of about 450$ i think. This is still a great build tho, i was wondering of the x61 was making a lot of noise, enough for it to matter?

I don't see crossfire happening with this build... mini itx.
