Description

First time builder, i always wanted to build a computer but was afraid of compatibility problems. Thanks for PCPARTPICKER site and all the people on here made my wish come true. Tried to stay with a couple of companies so everything would work well togather. I guess that's just me but that's what i did good or bad. I know i went overboard but when you wait as long as i did you tend to do that. My last computer was a Gateway FX6800-01e about 6 years ago so i was duo. I will use this for everything (surfing, gaming , streaming) So far all is running ok i think. I want to learn more on OC . Just trying to get set up first. I hope this fall to get a 3 monitor set up just trying to figure out which way to go.

Part Reviews

CPU

Wow love the speed . My old computer had a 920, what a difference!

CPU Cooler

I waited for a couple months for this and i am glad i did! great product. From what i read they froze in shipment so corsair recalled them.

Motherboard

Great quality over kill yes. But you are buying this for the back plate and the front armor. And it comes with all the bells and whistles. Looks great and dust protected.

Memory

Great quality! Go to corsair web site and buy there you get the light bars for free! Amazon charges $35! Make the cost worth it.

Storage

Wow loving the boot time it is so fast no waiting!

Video Card

Wow great Quality! $140 up grade. If i didn't do it i would have second guessed myself and would be pissed. Hope to learn how to get the most out of them.

Case

Great case, easy to work with. Just the right size for great air flow and lots of fans. But what sold me was the big view you get. Why do all this if you can't see it! Great quality can't go wrong.

Power Supply

Nice and easy to work with and i like the warranty. Got a deal on the price so i bought this over the gold which would have been good enough.

Optical Drive

got deal on this i wanted a writer.

Operating System

So far windows 8.1 is working ok , just hard to get use to. The only thing i haven't got working is my xbox 360 controller. I watched utube videos on how to fix this but it doesn't seem to work.

Thanks guy's just received front panel exten. and cable combs to cleanup the 24 pin cable and 8 pin gpu cables. Hope to add them in soon.

dillman333 1 point 32 months ago

Its a great build, but do you really need that much storage...?

dietz265 submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

Hi , your probably right, i was only going to get 1T drives but the price for 2T i thought was a better deal. Thanks for the comments.

oscar47 1 point 31 months ago

I agree. I would have gone with 3 terabytes and then put that money into a 250GB 850 EVO from Samsung. The rest is great though, and will last for many years with SLI 980s

Jackson_Tyler96 3 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

Makes me jealous and I have a pretty nice build myself! congrats!

IrshaadH 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

Now that's the kind of build that can make a grown man cry. Bravo OP, this is a beauty. +1

dietz265 submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

Thanks guy's for the kind works! All the credit goes to the picker site. Had no clue until i got on here.

stitchlips 1 point 32 months ago

I'm usually bored by black and red builds, but this is just so pretty. I love the consistency and attention to detail. Best build I've seen in the 760T by far!

Nexofedex_99 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

AWESOME Build Man!

Mobo64 1 point 32 months ago

this is just... beautiful your attention to detail is outstanding this is a really amazing black a red build :D

dietz265 submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

It's kind of hard not to go red & black with ROG. I know you see a lot in these colors. could go black & gold with 25 year aniversary Matrix gpu's. thanks guy's

Eltech 17 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

I can't complain, since this build is beautiful. You did an amazing job!! And what a major upgrade! I'm guilty as charged with a black and red color build. Yet it's obvious that I don't get tired of seeing these builds. You did a wonderful accomplishment and it's so lovely! Thank you so much for sharing your build on the site. +1

TechLoadChristian 1 point 32 months ago

TWO Matrix Platinum??? THAT'S AWESOME! If only I had the money to build this.... Awesome build man!

Tsuneo6 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

for the xbox controller, mine works just like that, plug and play.

brent_the_rogue 2 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

Perfection.

upintheair 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

nice build! Almost have the same exact build minus the extra SATA and HDs, Your wiring is better than mine so I am still jealous. Great Job!

titanpilot321 1 point 32 months ago

I know how you feel about the compatibility it hard until this site help out but your build looks amazing I only have 1 gtx 980. congratulations.

dietz265 submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

Thanks guys for all the comments. Like i said i been waiting a long time to do this and the only way it happened was i found the PcPartpicker site. i own it all to the site and all the people who post their builds. I had no clue what to pick or how to install and wire. Just have to say i love this site! UTube also was a great help! I am one of those guys you have to show me and then i'am off.

mlach 4 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

Great build +1.

Did you pickup the 2100 headset from the Corsair outlet website too?

dietz265 submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

yes i did works great plus a good deal! Thanks for the comments!

mlach 4 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

hard to pass up on a price like that.

francky1222 1 point 32 months ago

wow

brok249 1 point 32 months ago

Quick question. Why the two 500GB SSDs and then 2 2TB Hybrid hard drives? Are you doing heavy content creation?

dietz265 submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

the intent is separate everything . My last computer kind of was a mess, everything all in one drive. this time i what to control where everything is going.(music, movies, pictures ,games and canned software) & One is for a server. I was going to by 1T but 2T was a good price so i got them instead. right or wrong that what i did, just don't what another miss! Thank for the comments.

yea and rog is coming out with IPS to soon. probably way to much money just like the swift.

Minecreeper117 2 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

WOW! this build not only looks awesome, but most likely performs great! nice first build!

iLiekCumpooters 1 point 32 months ago

Nice build

DTF1129 2 Builds 1 point 32 months ago

Hellz yes bro, I just got that case in white yesterday and our specs are pretty similar, but those 980s are so badass. And I like how the red lights don't over do everything, you can still see the original colors of the products, nice man keep it up

Memo1010 1 point 31 months ago

you had the dream for 20years...must have been like i will get 2gbs or RAM so that i can play anygame a pentiums pretty high end ill get that...ok good i have intel HD intigrated graphics thats pretty good...

dietz265 submitter 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

First computer i bought 386s i can't even remember what brand.

KurtFerrell 1 point 31 months ago

how do you like to h1101 gt? I am thinking about getting one myself. If i were you i would have the radiator with the sides with the tubes to the left going over the waterblock, it looks alot better. Nice build btw!

dietz265 submitter 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

works great so far. i have seen it both ways , i had to move it back to make it fit. clearance problem with the op drive I like it this way hoses don't block airflow.

gigagoku12 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

I look at all the builds on PCPP and I have to say, yours is one of the actual few which make me jealous

No joke, this build is amazing. The case is gorgeous, your cable management is superb, the components are exactly what I would have chosen, and your pictures are very high quality.

That last bit about photo quality makes it or breaks it for me. If someone uses a crappy iPhone 4 camera, I just can't appreciate the quality of the build. Whatever camera you used captured the build excellently.

You have earned all the +1's

dietz265 submitter 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

Thanks for your comments it was fun to put together and know the real fun begins!

ropo13hawks 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

how long did this take you to build

dietz265 submitter 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

That's a hard question. I tried not to just buy everything at once, but to see if prices would drop. So two months to get all the parts. The cpu cooler was on back order for the winter due to freezing shipment problems. Corsair i guess recalled all shipments. That was the last part i needed and i didn't want to change the cooler. Going to Corsair's web site save me time and money. Just putting it all together it was 8 to 10 hours just because i have never done it before. Now it would take a lot less and i would do things different. Like running fan wires under mob and things like that to make it cleaner and easier.

ropo13hawks 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

cool

tooben 1 point 31 months ago

Just wondering why did you get this cooler instead of the kraken x61 tied up between these two coolers. Great build though +1

dietz265 submitter 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

thanks for the comments. I don't know anything about the kraken. I tried to stay with a couple manufacturers for my build. I liked the look of the H110gt. The kraken hoses look really long to me. I guess you can't go wrong ether way. Sorry I can't be more help. H110gt is working great so far

gaored92 1 point 31 months ago

went all out like this on very 1st build -> very ADMIRABLE !!!!

dietz265 submitter 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

dietz265 submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

Looks like 3 rog swift the way to go better save some pennies.

brok249 1 point 32 months ago

Acer just released some ROG Swift like monitors for quite a bit less. There's an IPS version ($800) and a non-IPS version (~$500). I'd recommend checking those out to save a couple more bucks.

japesthetank 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

yes. i got one and it rocked me. I'm gonan grab 2 more once they come down to 5-600 next year or so. until then I will keep upgrading my build to be ready for such a high res.

if you guy them, I suggest portrait mode. If you put them in landscape you will lose lots to your periphreal vision. great build man.
