Description

So after a long break from PC gaming I decided to build my first computer. I ordered all the parts and assembled everything and then my wife decided she wanted a computer, so the computer I was building (minus the cooler and GPU) went to her.

She does not game at all so I opted to keep in the stock cooler and use the built in graphics from the cpu. Temperature wise, the stock cooler has been a very pleasant surprise. I can add in graphics card or 3rd party cooler if her use of the computer changes.

She does not need 16 GB of RAM but since the new build uses DDR4 I kept it in.

Price wise the CPU and MB were a Microcenter bundle. The 4790K is overkill for this build but I thought it was going to be me using it.

Here is a link to the machine I ended up making for myself: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/vG6XsY

I didn't know the RAM lit up. Fancy. Will she need mass storage, or is that enough for her? Did she get the exact same case or just a regular H440? Everything else looks great.

Same case but I disabled some of the case lighting (she really hated the shroud lighting). I probably should have just gotten a normal NZXT H440 case in hindsight or, given the lack of components, a mini case.

Right now she does not need mass storage (at least according to her). I left in 1 extra bay so I can throw in a 1-3 TB drive once the pictures and music start piling up

hah, yes because we know that it will pile up. (My wife is like that too).

I got my CPU for the same price at microcenter, but didn't know about or they didn't offer the mobo at that price. Man, what a steal!

okay so im planning on building a tower with the same case i just have a few stupid questions cuz this is my first build.

how well would this build play games? is this a decent system to edit videos on? the shroud lighting and bottom leds will fire on that power supply?
