Description

Main workhorse PC, to replace aging Dell unit at work. Lots of multitasking and remote server maintenance, with some mid-level gaming ability thrown in for the winter offseason. Built a couple components at a time. (Please forgive the poor photo; it is under my standing desk in my cubicle.)

LOVE the SSD, it boots SO fast (15 seconds from BIOS splash to Win8.1 login page). Even with the stock audio controls on the MB, my speakers have a noticeable power boost. Got my hands on a refurb GeForce 780 and LOVE it. Eventually want to double the RAM to 32GB but for now, it is a smooth, quick, quiet dream.

The only con: even though I knew the dimensions of the case, it is quite a bit larger than I was expecting! And I wish the front cover/door was a bit more sturdy. Still, it has lots of space inside for multiple HDDs and is SILENT. Would buy this combo again in a heartbeat.

Any tips on working with that R4 case?

Just be aware that the front wants to pop open/off at any given opportunity. It's a bit tricky to move around between the grabby feet (doesn't slide anywhere AT ALL- not necessarily a bad thing!), the trick front panel (at least it LOOKS decent), and the fact that it weighs a metric f***ton with everything installed. :D
