Description

Update: Some cable management and re-installed the cpu cooler to vent out the back of the case.

Savings:

CPU/mobo purchased from microcenter for $166.79

Ram/hard drive saved $15

Mail in rebates on case, psu, and graphics card

Case isn't the best for cable management but I did my best. Suggestions appreciated! (The cpu power cable isn't long enough to be routed behind the mobo.)

EDIT: I overclocked the gpu and now it gets a G3D mark of around 3300

On the price breakdown list it states the mobo may be incompatible w/ the cpu, did everything work out fine with this build?

Yup, it came with bios that recognized the 6300 right away.

I had that same message when I bought that Mobo+CPU a few months back but if you research it, the 6300 is already supported by the factory set version of the BIOS. works 100% no problems :)

a very good system, and good cable management might i add. i hear ya on not being able to route the CPU cable behind the motherboard as that is the case for me (OCZ StealthXtream 2 600W in a CM Storm Scout 2), so i have it routed much like how you routed it. a $10 extension should be enough to give it enough length to route it behind the motherboard, making it neater.

Nice build. The temperatures you're getting are perfectly fine. You shouldn't start to worry unless they hit 80-90 degrees C. Though, the lower the better.

The asus mobo I have is pretty easy to OC with. I just bumped the multiplier up in the ai tweaker and it worked out pretty well.
