Description

This is a gaming machine. This PC was GREAT. No problems except for fitting the Corsair H100i in. With this motherboard there is a spot and a wire that is quite hard to get in. My cooler broke...(I broke it. It has nothing to do with this configuration) I hope to get it fixed. That's about it. If anyone asks questions and I answer them, and I remember I'll put it here... Also these Corsair peripherals. They are amazing. So Amazing.

Should fix up those haning cables, It's the R4 so cable management shouldn't be a problem, maynbe because you can't route the 8pin CPU connector, Well I think it's do able if you route it before installing the h100i, just saying so if you're ever gonna take out the h100i to just reroute stuff

And btw cable ties behind the motherboard tray is your best friend, and the R4 has a lot of options when routing cables, best way of tidying things up

I know, when I get my cooler fixed, I'm gonna have to crack it back open. So, I might do it then! :D Thanks!

Should have called this build "Corsair much?" But anyways, beautiful computer you have here.

That's funny, And thanks. Actually I have reasoning for each part.

The peripherals(Mouse,Keyboard,Headset) My friend had and let me try them out. I loved them so I got them.

The cooler is a great liquid cooler. It's one of the few. (Already set up out of package)

The power supply and ram. The reasoning is because the power supply, is a good power supply and the ram is good ram. xD

Everything is awesome. Like really similar to my build for that much I would of suggested getting a better card like a 770 or higher. I also feel your pain because I have the same motherboard and h100i.....Cable management is frustrating with h100i alone. Other then that everything looks good.

Yeah, I'm planning to upgrade later. Thanks for comments!

Good build, nice part selection. You could clean up most of those cables with a bit of work. Protip: The USB connection on the H100i doesn't have to be permanent. Set it the color(s) you want and then you can unplug it. (Unless you're using the Corsair Link software)

Thanks, And I'm gonna crack it open again, when cooler is fixed. I'll probably do it then! :)

Why an i7 for gaming and 16GB of RAM ? Just for fun or will this needs it eventually ? Too bad there is not a pic of the inside actually finished ;). Great build.

When the budget is almost $2000, i7's and 16GB of RAM is fine. It isn't as if he skimped on any components.

Oh yes, I plan to do Autodesk Maya modeling and rendering. Also gaming :D And add some more rendering to that. Sorry, I took those pics while building. :P

why did you cheap out on the gpu that's the most important thing?

The GPU is one of the more important things, but at the moment I don't need it perfect. I plan to upgrade.

Plan to upgrade... you just spend $250 on a GPU... wow. I wish I had money to burn like everyone else on here.

:) I didn't have money to burn. I saved it :)

Almost exactly what I'm planning for my build!

I'm going after the 770 from Asus and a WD platter...but other than that, sweet rig man!

Put your RAM in the gold slots to take advantage of the dual channel feature.

Glad the H100i fits, I'm not sure this case would do well with a custom loop...not sure if it has the room.

  • 1 point

Cool! xD

Yeah, I should upgrade later to a 770 or 780.

I'm not sure, it's been kinda iffy. For a while one ram stick, didn't work. Now it does, so if I get more details on that, I'll tell you :)

Yeah. it fits, but it's a tiny challenge xD. A custom loop probably wouldn't fit.

is it just me or is the ram not inserted in the right slots for dual channel

When I took the picture they weren't.

The difference between the 770 and 760 is practically a 10 percent performance increase. From all the benchmarks I've seen the GTX 760 performs very well for 260 dollars, and in my opinion the pricing of the GTX 770 being 400 dollars or more is not really worth it.

Yeah

You need to move the left piece of ram to the yellow slot, they are colored for a reason, they are the ram channels, they will only be dual channel if they are in the same color :) love the build, good luck have fun!

Thanks, and yes. I fixed that after I tookt he pics :D

Good build, sir. Great part selection. The only criticism I would have is the cable management, but to be truthful this is more of an aesthetic preference thing in the R4 since you have so much room for airflow anyway.

  • 1 point

Thanks, and thanks again. I will work on cable management. :D Thank you for helping me pick these out :)

Technically this case isn't meant for liquid cooling... well.. a dual 240mm at least

Maybe not, but it works! :D
