Description

I built this machine back in April 2013, never got around to showing it off on the site! First build using the site.

The APU and GPU are in crossfire mode, pretty fast for what it is. :)

Will be building a high end machine come this December/January, hopefully.

You're running the APU and GPU in crossfire? How's the FPS of games? Overall nice build indeed.

Yep that is correct! On Battlefield 3 I averge 40FPS on Medium, and average about 31-32 on High graphics mode. About the same results with Crysis 3. Thanks!

Thanks I will have to try that! This is mainly a starting build. I plan on building a new machine soon.

I wouldn't say huge and thats only running the integrated graphics, not in Xfire.

faster ram has a pretty big impact on apus since they share the ram for the gpu and the cpu. you can get a 10 plus fps difffernece

Do you have data supporting that it uses system memory in Xfire? From what I've observed it does not, but maybe thats because I have a ddr5 version?

Ditto on the OC

Oh sorry I could not understand what you said.. So are you seeing any performance increases?

Yes! I don't have any specific benchmarks, however if you go on YouTube, you'll definitely find some.

did you x-fire the 5800k and gpu? solid build, the cpu power cable sticks out exactly like mine does and it's a huge eyesore whenevver i look in it but everything is really good

Thanks! I know what you mean that cable drives me insane, but oh well.

Well balanced build, that apu and gpu should work well together!

Even though I think you could have gotten better results with a discrete GPU and normal CPU for the same price, as long as you're happy, I'm happy! :)

Such odd placement for the USB 3.0 on that board... would drive me nuts. Good budget build though for sure. +1

Thanks! The engineers weren't thinking, very good motherboard though

You have an MSI motherboard. It's listed as an Asus.

You don't find it choppy in dual graphics? The only game I played that was good was Fallout NV, never tried BF3 or Crysis 3 though.

Never really had a problem with it. As long as the settings are set right it works great!

it would benifit him that much becuase he is running crossfire with the apu. if it was just the apu then it would be a different story
