Description

Waiting for Nvidia 3070 white version or 2950XT to be released. Waiting for next Gen4.0 Samsung SSD. RX580 PowerColor, is not RedDevil anymore, is WhiteAngel after custom paint (LoL). HDDs in RAID1 for backup (movies etc), Blue or Red versions should be better, but I already had them. The 128GB SSD used as temp folder for uTorrent, in order not to fault main disks. The front fan works only above 55 'C GPU temps and pushes air to GPU. I preferred not to alter another front fan, for noise, cost and free turbulence airflow reasons (this case works mostly with the rear and top fan).

Okay. Your waiting for a rtx 3xxx series card. I was surprised u paired a 580 with a 3700x.

I had it from my old system. I preferred waiting for new series of GPU (probably in 3 months from now)

Yup. I hear u. I went with a 2070s cause my old system had a rx 290. So I wasn't willing to wait.

Very nice components/build. Congrats! What's that nice large monitor make/model#? When you get the new GPU please consider getting it in white and mounting it vertically. Enjoy!

It is a good old 17 3d monitor (2752DZ). After choosing the right GPU I will choose freesync or Gsync 144Hz 4K monitor. For the GPU hope there is a white version. I will not install it vertically because thermals would be much worse, due to the glass. Also, the front fan pushes air below the GPU and I have very good thermals. 34 idle and 54 max for CPU and 38 idle and 58 max for GPU playing Apex Legends. In youtube tests, they were installing 2 fans at the front without any measurable benefit, but and I think this was making too much turbulence. I installed one fan, so the air goes from down to up, as the H510i is made for. Maybe I am wrong.

Nice gpu, I’m thinking about paint mine, how’d you do it? Do you just take the shroud off and avoid the fans? Also what paint should I use?

I had only to unscrew 4 screws and paint it with spray glossy paint, 5 hands, 1 hour top between each pass. Waited 24 hours before assembling it back, in order the inner layers of paint to be drawn completely. I could use wet sandpaper first, or a primary coat, but I was lazy. This particular model was easy. Newer ones are much more hard to disassemble.

Any tips on covering the fans or should I just tape them?

You don't have to. The cover gets out without the fans. The later are mounted on the card. I just paint the cover alone.
