Description

My first Build 2 years ago. I have it overclocked to 3.8 stable (running Prime95). I know the cable management needs some help, but with this case, it's tough to get all the wires underneath. It runs Windows 7 64-bit with no problems, I do some light gaming but mostly for watching movies, hence the reason it is hooked up to my 55" LG Plasma. My next build is going to be another AMD machine (Fx-8350), I don't like how Intel is so overpriced. Be kind in the comments please :-) Speaking of the 8350, any suggestions on the Mobo I should be looking at? Thanks in advance :)

I would suggest a 990FX board from Asus, Gigabyte, or MSI for the 8350.

Any 990FX board should be fine. Just get a decent cooler so you can overclock that bad boy and then get one of AMD's new GPU's that are gonna come out later this month or early next month.

Yeah. Budget cases and cases from a couple years ago aren't anywhere near as easy to cable manage as modern cases. We have it easy now. XD

Great, thanks. I am looking at all the 990fx boards, just have to narrow it down. I am def going with the phantom 410 for my next case, I love the way it looks!

I don't know about your chip, buy i think that 1.476 volts is way to much even thou your temps are good. I try not to get past 1.32 volts (on core i.5 3570k).

I like the build kinda outdated but is fine since you built it 2 years ago, however cable management make it looks very very unorganized. .

AMD chips eat way more voltage than Intel and are typically ok. I have a 3770K @4.8 on 1.225 and an FX-6300 @4.5 and 1.45 volts and it runs perfectly ok. The standard voltage for AMD chips are higher than Intel as well.

That's the lowest I could go to get it stable, and with the temps being low, I don't think there is much of a problem. Next build will be coming soon. :)

I have like the same build, just a 6870 for gpu and different case/psu model. It was also my first build. I hope you like it.
