Hey guys, So it is finally done! Been building this PC for about an year now. I couldn't decide on the parts and kept increasing my budget to build the best Price to performance PC I could come up with. Overall I am very satisfied and hope it lasts for at least 5 years until further upgrades. Please leave any questions down below and I would be happy to answer em!
Performance is way better then my previous PC (Xeon W3550). Absolutely crushes any multi tasking that I throw at it. Was able to push it to 3.9 GHz at 1.35V. Abit lower then expected, was hoping to push it all the way to 4.0GHz but the motherboard was holding it back. (Significant VDROOP).
Very satisfied with this cooler! Got it for like $40 at a local shop. Was initially going with DeepCool Captain 120EX RGB but ended up getting this. Keeps the CPU well under 60 degrees while playing any game and 70 during benchmarks.
The only problem I have with this motherboard is that it can't overclock the ryzen 5 1600 to 4.0Ghz. But again, I don't think they're a lot (or if any) B350 motherboards which can do. Aesthetically it looks amazing. Got it for $70 back in March of 2018.
Was initially going with 2x4GB Patriot Viper 3000Mhz but ended up getting these. Overclocked easily to 2933Mhz without messing with the voltages too much. Aesthetically they don't look anything amazing but I really wish that I could've gotten the white colored ones so that it could blend in nicely with the rest of the parts.
Coming from a slow 5200 rpm HDD, this SSD is absolutely mind blowing. Under 5 seconds of boot time and over 2000/1500 MB/s of Read and Write speeds. Attached two of my old HDDs in this PC too (1TB WD Black and HGST 500GB 3.5")
Overall I am impressed with the performance of this card. (Miles ahead of my old R7 360) Was expecting well above 60FPS at 1080p Maxed out settings in every game, and that's what I got. But it turns out it just can't keep up in some poorly optimized titles. In Kingdom Come Deliverance Ultra High is completely out of question (Dropping below 30 FPS) and in Battlefield V it can maintain 60 FPS on ultra settings at most of the times while keeping temps below 60. Im going to add some proper benchmarks later on.
Haven't got much to say about this one. Its Seasonic and it's fully modular. I think I should've went with the 650W version of this PSU but again 520 will work just fine for this PC.
Oddly, I couldn't find this case under PcPartPicker's case category and had to add it in manually. Airflow is somewhat poor but aesthetically it looks pretty beautiful. The 4 RGB fans don't provide much airflow too and the front is almost completely sealed off. I modded this case so that I could control the RGB off my motherboard. If anyone wants to know the proper procedure let me know. Overall its not bad for $70.
