Description

It took me around 4 hours to fully complete this build, I didn't run into any problems just took forever with all the cable management. I have had this build for over 6 months, but just figured out about this website today(10/24/13). I had to buy piece by piece over the span of a few months because i couldn't afford it all up front. Thanks for looking add me on steam my username is roenneburg.

There is no such thing as "future proofing"

So I love this build and color scheme you've got going on here but I do have a few concerns/points but these are based on my assumption that this is solely for gaming. So if I'm incorrect in that assumption I'll withdraw this.

  • I feel that you went pretty overkill on the RAM. 8gb is plenty for gaming however on this budget I would've gotten 16gb and saved some money
  • I definitely would've gone with a 250gb SSD or more. Why so much HDD storage?
  • I would've gone with ASUS's cards simply to keep the color scheme (I'm a sucker for matching)
  • I would've skipped out on the sound card as your mother board comes with supreme FX sound
  • That PSU seems meh to me, I feel a 1000w PSU from XFX would've been the better option for less cost
  • Why the $100 Optical drive when you can get a $50-$70 drive
  • Full windows 7 32/64? I really hope you got this for free or paid less as this is a big chunk of the budget

Like I said above please feel free to correct me on any of this as I don't know when this was built, what you paid for certain prices or what your everyday usages are for this machine

Overall though this thing is a beast and looks great, more pictures please?

I do have Diamond cards which are red and black but they didnt have it as an option so i chose those. i got 32gb of ram which was on sale it was about the same as 16gb, everything i got like the optical drive was on sale i bought it piece by piece as i got the money. and the 1300watt ps was also on sale so i got it too. I selected win 7 just because i had it i got it for free.

one other thing i forgot to add was i have all the hard drive space for games because i have a ton of steam and origin games and the ssd sole purpose is for the operating system.

I probably would have gone with 2xGTX 770's if I wanted multiple GPUs, but maybe that's just me.
