Description

First Build ever. All the parts were pieced together, mostly bought from Microcenter due to great deals on Mobo&CPU bundles (Got my Mobo Half off when I bought the CPU). RAM (Bought at a yardsale) currently running at 1600MHz. The pictures are from the first night it was put together, I bought the Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO a week later. I definitely recommend getting a different cooler than stock if you plan on gaming for hours on end. Great performance so far, just waiting on the video card to start some serious gaming. Side note, if you get this motherboard, and use the coolermaster hyper cooler, make sure you use some low profile ram, I have ram with heat spreaders and it causes the fan to not be able to go down all the way.

10/29/13 Cable management re-done, looking great now... still waiting to buy my GPU

11/30/13 Bought a Gigabyte R9 270X, I will update the pictures soon, this card is awesome!

12/25/13 Received a new monitor for Christmas, 27" LG, pure awesome with skyrim.

1/23/14 Bought Samsung SSD and Perixx gaming mouse, both excellent buys.

6/9/16 Sill going strong as day 1. Dealt with many 270X ram issues but AMD seems to have many of those fixed now. Looking to the future to possible upgrade to a Zen CPU.

6/15/16 Found a crazy good deal on a Nzxt s340 case for only $35 brand new on craigslist. Overall awesome case so far, very clean, and roomy.

12/12/19 Finally added another SSD to the storage mix. Ran out of room in the google cloud so bought a samsung QVO 1TB on sale. Also trying out windows 10 for the gaming pc. So far the old hardware is having no troubles with it.

Man look at those deals.

But good job! I personally don't like the look of the case, but that's me, just work on tidying up the inside a little when you get your graphics card (like using twist ties on the wires) to keep the temperatures down while gaming for a long period of time.

Once again, nice!

Thanks!

Once I get my new video card I plan on re-configuring the cable management completely.

On a side note, I may get new case fans, any recommendations?

These are some really nice ones. I have them in my Fractal Design case and they're quiet as a breeze!

These are great as well, and they're on sale for 4.99 today if you're willing to do some MIRs!

Really like this build, it's very similar to mine. That processor gives you a lot of bang for your buck!

Yes I know! its basically a joke.

It preforms alright at low-med settings

Just waiting till I can upgrade to a R9 270X...

I would suggest a 7950 unless you can get the r9 270x for cheaper. They will both have mantle but the 7950 is a little bit faster and comes with free games.

I would suggest not upgrading at all; 512 GB of VRAM should be enough for anyone ;)

Ive been going back and forth on that dilemma, the r9 270x is currently

200$ on newegg, and recently the 7950 has taken some price jumps. (upwards

of 240$)... So while I would like the 7950, I just don't know if it is

worth it to wait till the price comes down again...

Really nice. Shame about the blue motherboard, black would have looked better. Don't get me wrong it does look great :)

Yea, I was shooting for a black Mobo, but at the time I bought the CPU and

MoBo combo at Microcenter I was only looking for the best bang for my buck.

Is the processor worth it? Can it run games fairly good?

The processor has been awesome so far, handles games just fine, and it rocks with multi-threaded applications. Ive had some driver issues with my AMD R9 270X though...
