This is my first computer that I get to keep. I got discounts at NCIX when I worked there last year as a co-op student. I am very impressed with what I got, since it is my first build after all. I suck at cable management but it's what I can do.
I received the RAM from my sister's bf for free, since he had one laying around. As for storage, I received the SSD for my birthday and free storage for free, again from my sister's bf. The reason why he gave me 3 hard drives is that he works as an IT at CAT (Caterpillar Inc) and that they have a stack of them. When they order laptops, they switch out the hard drives that came with it , and replace it with a SSD instead. He decided to give me 3 since why not, and i'll most likely use all three anyway.
I'm reusing the monitor, keyboard and mouse, and a wireless adapter cuz they work fine, I'll prob upgrade them in the future.
Total after tax (Canada): $876.88
The games that I have mostly run stable at 60fps, sometimes even higher.
For some reason, the temperatures won't show ranges, so I'll list them below:
CPU Temp under load: 45-65 (It can vary on what application or game I run)
GPU Temp under load: 50-60 (It can vary on what application or game I run)
Sorry If camera quality sucks, I took the photos from a Galaxy S3
Good cpu, it works smoothly.
Solid mobo, haven't had any problems with it at the moment. I couldn't flash the BIOS though, but it's not really necessary.
It works fine with no problems.
Amazing SSD, it boots my OS and startups in a few sec.
It works fine, and it was free for me.
Love the design of the card. It runs most games on High, haven't had any problems with it so far.
I like the design of the case, but I kinda wished they would add more 2.5'' trays and a speaker, but with a cheap case, I can't really argue about it.
Hasn't died on me yet, that's a relief. Wished it was modular though, that way Cable managing would be easier.
Wireless Network Adapter
Works fine for me, I get around 5mb/s everytime I download something on Steam. Allowed me to write this review on my computer without it dying on me.
