Description

Just ordered the last of the components will be updating when they come in and as I go. Probably pretty hardcore for a newb but I'm the kind that finds it hard to settle lol. This thing is just for gaming and media and I already know it's a beast

Update. All the parts came in. All put together and posted first try. Trying to find someone with a computer so I can make a windows install drive. This thing is so sick I have goosebumps. Lots of cable management to do still. Have to figure out how and where I'm going to mount the commander pro and the rgb Co trollers for the fans. I'll probably be adding in the 3 fans that came with the H150i so the rad is in push/pull and more importantly the sweet corsair logo on the side of the rad will drop down and be more visible. Can't wait to get windows on it and overclock the balls off it!

Plans for upgrade. 64 gb corsair rgb ram. Vengeance or platinum not sure yet. Plan on possibly relocating the 2 tb drive if I can if not just replace it with 2 much bigger ones in raid. I plan on running windows off of the 250gb wd drive and games off of the corsair nvme drive. Thoughts on that would be great. Eventually they'll get replaced with much bigger nvme drives in the future. Who doesn't want 2tb Samsungs? Lol

Got windows installed updated everything and the only thing I don't like is my internet connection lol. So far has run apex legends and pubg at ultra without a single hitch. Not sure what the fps it's been running but it's buttery smooth and not a single glitch. Well pubg crashed once but I'm pretty sure it's cuz of the ai overclocking not having enough voltage for 5ghz on a heavy load like pubg or even the load line calibration maybe. Will be manually overclocking at some point but I thought I'd give the ai a try. Also going to be pulling the rad out and putting the 3 fans that came with it on so its in push/pull just to help it out a bit. System is super quiet even at max fan speeds. Especially since I have no speakers and only use a headset

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

Looks great. Works well. Only reason it has 4 stars instead of 5 is simple. Every screw that came with it pushes into the fins on the radiator. Even with washers. I don't know if it's the case with the rad mount screws but the heads stick up too high for the dust filters to sit down right and even with washers they push into the rad. The long fan mounting screw also with washers eat into the rad as well. Just seems like something that shouldn't happen. I paid waaaay too much for all my corsair gear for some screws to be jacking it up you know? Also I just wanna say the plastic backing plate is janky. You're supposed to screw the standoffs in tighter than the screws on the mounting bracket but the only problem is you're screwing into plastic with the standoffs and steel with the mounting screws. Backwards if you ask me. Just hoping that if I have to remove it the standoff screw don't come with it. Not that it would be a total disaster but more of a pain than would be necessary.

Video Card

Haven't even utilized it yet but I wish I could put some corsair rgb fans on the thing. Or if Asus did it you know? I know soooooo many of you hate it but personally I think the rgb craze is great. My system looks as good as its going to perform and that's pretty awesome ????I already know what to expect out of it and it's a beast!

Case

Only gripe I have about the case is that I had to tweak on the rtx 2070 to get it to meet up with the mounting screws a bit and also the USB type c front panel connector on the motherboard is so big and clunky I had to wedge one of the bottom fans on it a bit and while it's probably OK it still just bugs me. The gpu sags but from what I can tell that's just a thing with these big cards unless you do a vertical mount. I'm just gonna add a support ( gonna use some kind of polished material for a "stripper pole" lol)

Power Supply

It's a power supply. It's a pretty good power supply. More than enough cables and they look pretty good for what you pay. Will be going to custom cables at some point just to get rid of the clutter but none of my cables were too short and everything was connected without a hitch ????

Case Fan

Absolutely beautiful! If you're going for all out maximum performance or quietness you can do better but with as many of these guys as I have and what I'm doing they're extremely quiet and offer plenty of cooling! Just remember they require a lot of extra wiring, controllers and etc. It's going to be a real pain to get everything organized in my case

Keyboard

Absolutely beautiful. Feels supreme. Very comfortable for me anyways. Usb pass through is sweet. All around if you have other corsair stuff and you can swing it this is the keyboard for you. Not sure if I like having a click in the key or not but so far these speed switched feel great!

If anyone has any advice on what to do with the ridiculous amount of stuff shoved in the back that would be great. Commander Pro and the 2 fan rgb headers are just shoved in. Thinking maybe try to mount them in the inside of the cable management bar/hdd bracket but there's not much room there either. Probably just do some more organizing and stuff it better lol.
