Never done this before felt it was time to build a PC. Its my gaming rig, but boy is it great as a home office workstation. Currently running overclocked at 3.8 without issue a few degrees rise only.
Any reason for the overkill on the cpu and ram? And holy mother of cable management that is an eyesore
5820k is not overkill, dx12 is on the way which will make use of them and will most likely play cpu intensive games better like arma and dayz etc and 32gb is alright since you can get up to 128gb with that board but only 64gb with that cpu
Ever heard of cable management?
Oh god those cables, as a fellow Define R5 Owner, I'm ashamed. And that bottom front fan is facing the wrong way!
I have the R4 and this disappoints even me but I suppose there is much MUCH worse on PCP.
Nice build and welcome to the PC Master Race. Just a suggestion since it's your first build, try tidying up the cables a bit to make it look neater. The power cable to the MOBO can easily be removed and guide through the holes to make the cable almost unnoticeable. Also you can move the power cable to gpu around the window so you can't see it. It'll take 30 mins for the whole build, but your pc will look great. Just a suggestion though :)
Must agree with the others on Cable Management. You have selected Components in the Case an Power Supply that are often overlooked.
Please ease our pain and use those Grommets especially the neglected one right beside the Power Supply !!
Love the System as a whole though. Personally feel there is no such thing as Too Much Ram Grin..
If you get a moment tell me what You think of my recent builds..
Blue Green Ninja Build
Had a handful of people disagree with some of the choices I made also.. Grin
Fun Times !!
I cannot comprehend these things cables, bottom fans both are pushing air out, PSU fan pulling air from inside(make use of the bottom filter please).
100% able to make corrections. Ill fix cables based on feed back. Sounds like the 2 bottom fans need to be flipped over. PSU does it need turned?
Preferably, reason being that the psu can then suck air cool air from the ground through your filter however the exception being unless you are putting your computer on carpet. If you can you should upload some new photos after you are done!
Gaming or not, if youre spending close to 3k on your setup, get a 980ti.
Because he can :) would have to get 32gb if i was buying DDR4 :)
Plus if this is a home office workstation he maybe using video editing software
However the 970 not 980 ti i agree 980 ti would have be more logical
16gb is available in ddr4 too.
Yeah but if he got 16gb and wanted 64gb later for say CAD work he would need to replace all 4 stickes
guess we'll never know what op's plans are.
