Description

My first Build!! Started out as just a thought in october, but now its all here. Had some friends in the team speak I go in all the time help me with the parts, also my friend who I go to school with helped me. Parts luckily came all in one piece, so nothing was broken. They all work great together. I was on kind of a budget, seeing as I am 15, and I have no source of income other than my parents. If I had more money, the only thing I would change is maybe a 770 or an aftermarket cooler. Neither of these were in my budget though. This thing runs smooth and quit, thanks to that Define R4 case, which in my opinion is the best Mid Tower case money can but. Ordered most of my stuff on new egg, which is great because no tax and the shipping is amazing. Ordered something for 3 days, got it in one!. The rest was ordered from amazon, where I get Prime shipping. I would Recommend every part I bought for a budget build. This is for gaming btw, replacing my PS3 (well not really still love that old horse), so now I guess I'm part of this "PC Master Race" lol I know the cabling isn't the greatest so spare me there in the comments Here are my reviews so far since I have had it for a week

Fx-8320 - Great little CPU, and picked it up for the price of a 6300 on newegg. Great value buy and plays cpu heavy games like a champ. Haven't OC, mainly because of My board and no After market Cooler. I will once I get some more stuff

Asus M5A97 - New I wanted to go Asus from the start. Such an honorable company, and makes great products. This is a great 970 Chipset board, although hear its not the best for Overclocking, so not even gonna try. Got in on sale for 10 bucks cheaper on newegg.

G.Skill Sniper RAM - 8GB, @ 1866 Mhz on sale a little bit. Couldn't resist

WD Caviar Blue - It's a 1TB HDD, you can't go wrong with it.

Gigabyte Geforce GTX 760 - Hands down my pride and joy of the build, mainly because it was the most expensive part by a lot. Was gonna go Asus 270X, but saw this was better for all around gaming, and also Shadowplay = 0 FPS drop in games makes it amazing. Was gonna go Asus or EVGA or MSI on this card but heard MSI doesn't have good Customer service, I didn't like how small the Asus card was, and saw on a video that the EVGA ACX cooled card wasn't the best cooling. Say Gigabyte's card and instant love. On the video it said it had the second best cooling behind the Asus card, and Tied for first in most Core Clock Rate. So I went with it.

Fractal Design Define R4 Case - Originally was gonna go corsair or Bitfenix Shinobi, but saw this and fell in love. second favorite part and it fits and looks so well under my desk. Very clean and the inside has great cable management, even with me being horrible at it. If your looking for a case I would recommend this 100% of the time.

Corsair CX 600 - Wanted a 600W PSU. This had 80+ Bronze Certification, and Corsair makes great products, and at a relatively cheap price. Couldn't go wrong.

Samsung Drive - Works. -----------------------------------------------------------------Peripherals---------------------------------------------------------------- Windows 8.1 (???!?!?) - Yah ik ik. But i like it actually, and with a simple program like Classic Shell, it's amazing. Didn't see the point of getting Windows 7.

Steelseries 6Gv2 - Originally was gonna go with Microsoft Sidewinder X4, but got some more money, and was gonna get Corsair Vengeance K70, but had to buy Windows 8.1 because my cousin who works for best buy didn't get it for me. Great little thing and solid built with the Red switches. First time Cherry MX Red Switch User (I guess you could say I popped the cherry :) ) an I love it. Would recommend for a value keyboard. Had to get the keyboard in 2 days so had to order it on amazon. If the circumstances were different, I probably would've gone with a CM Quickfire Keyboard.

Razer Death Adder 2013 - Had this before the build. Works great, and is an amazing looking and feeling mouse. Would recommend.

Razer kraken Pro - Had this before the build as well. Its okay I guess. Probably will be getting a nicer headset, and maybe a Blue Yeti Mic?

Stuff I would like to get first -

New monitor - Playing on a tv with a 1080i Res at 1440 x 900 so... you know.... CPU cooler - just for more comfort and quietness.

Hope you guys liked it :)

P.S - If you're wondering why the locations are different in the test build and the real build, I had to fly the parts down because I lived in the US and still have a house there, so I went up for winter break, and got all the stuff there cheaper than I could get here in Panama

Also excluded the price of peripherals, they did cost me money!

Hello fellow teen builder! I like this a lot, very well balanced, and very nice prices. I have the same CPU/Mobo, and it's awesome. +1

EDIT: Do you ever find the CPU cooler to be really loud?

Yes the cpu cooler is very loud When i'm gaming but with the sound and the case and my headphones, half the time I can't hear it unless I'm sneaking in Dayz

Yeah it's been getting pretty darn annoying for me. Gonna get a aftermarket cooler soon.
