Description

Hi, first of all special thanks to tech websites, youtube channels (linustech, austin evans, paulshardware and some others). So this is my first build, i saved my money from june up to now and decided to give it a go. Prices here in Philippines are high for example a $1200 build can be $1500 here so its hard for me as a student to manage this. But fortunately my parents helped me clapping here.

I had a tough time working in this one, took me 8 hrs building especially the radiator as intake in s340 (but its good and solid case and for the price its the best IMO.) At first boot the pump was making some sound like water i think, but after a some time it was gone. The GPU is great, does not spin when there's not too much load in it and totally silent. I was opting for Galax 970 the one with back plate but i cant find one here, so i got this msi. I'm playing LoL, AC unity, Tomb raider, and some steam games. All in all, this build works like a charm and fast. I'm so happy 'cause finally I've built my own pc, after months of looking completed builds here.

Maybe next year I'll buy my headsets, mouse and keyboard (can you guys recommend good ones w/ good mic. )

Sorry for the long talk, its just I'am happy with this PC. If u have some suggestions/violent reaction, im all ears guys. Cheers and happy holidays :D

I ordered the Logitech G35 headset (G9350 is same but wireless) and I'll let you know what the mic quality is like tomorrow. I like my Corsair K70 keyboard with cherry mx reds. Friend has a Razer keyboard and I think my Corsair is higher quality for lower price.

im thinking about hyperx cloud, but bump me about the quality of yours. ill check for some reviews in k70

OK. That headset will sound better with a good sound card. The Logitech should sound good on its own because it is USB with built in sound card. I'll have to see though.

Just got my G35. Build quality is very good. Light plastic with a very nice looking and feeling matte finish. Red is actually red and not orange like it looks in the pics. Surround sound is alright, but didn't blow my mind. The cable is a little annoying... Wireless might have been a good idea, but then again my wired headset will never have connectivity issues or empty batteries. Sound pretty good for music really... Gaming is great so far too. Much better than the integrated audio on my mobo with beats headphones. They are also much more comfortable. Would recommend.

If you really want a "good" gaming headset just get the HyperX Cloud. It's actually a great sounding headset and the price is great for the quality that it outputs. If you want to go a step farther you should get some decent audiophile headphones with a large soundstage such as open-backed headphones like the Audio Technica AD700x with a decent mic and an amplifier to drive the headphones. But if you're on a budget to get a new mouse and keyboard and you're set on the Cloud's, then go for it.

Very nice I really like where you put the MSI mobo sticker looks cool. Ya the S340 is a great budget case and makes build and cable management a breeze. Very simple aNd nice and clean. Considering your in the Philippines the prices are great a kraken x61,4690k,970,monitor and OS for $1500 is freaking awesome. GJ man

corsair and cooler master mechanical keyboards are nice. Make sure to play around at best buy to see what kind of switches you like

i saw steelseries apex raw, do you think its good ?

I haven't used it personally. Razer keyboards are generally overpriced. What really matters are a) if it is mechanical and b) what cherry MX switches they are. For example, Cherry MX Blue switches are characteristically clicky and loud, with larger actuation forces. Cherry MX Red switches have a smaller actuation force, are much softer, and are generally recommended for gaming. I personally prefer the Blues, but this is purely personal preference. Try reading this article for starters.

I just took a look at the apex raw. If you have the money, you should go for a mechanical keyboard. They are much more precise and feel nicer in general. As somebody mentioned before, the Corsair K70 is a very high quality MX red keyboard. If you have any friends that have mechanical keyboards you can try, that's usually the best way to see what you like. Happy Shopping

Nice and clean builds with solid parts. I thought the msi was a fairly small card but looking at the GPU it seems to have quite a bit of sag to it. You might want to try a bit of fishing line to help with that. Besides that very nice.

  • 1 point

ya it sag a little, what can i do? re route the 8pin power so it can pull it up?

  • 2 points

That will definitely help. I use some clear fishing line because its next to invisible and I am un able reroute the 8 and 6 pin to go over the GPU to pull it up.

okay sir, will try that thanks for the advice.

Why not add some red fans to spice up the color?

  • 1 point

im planning some AF quiet edtion fans in the exhaust (top and rear) and finish them with some alchemy white led. Do you think it will look great?

  • 2 points

Yup. I think it matters what it looks like, it helps you feel good about it. That would look great, consider going with red fan blades. corsair fans are nice too though.
