I put this build together about a year ago for a friend and I finally got around to posting it here.

He had a budget of $800 (I got almost exactly on that price, the prices on the partslist have fluctuated of course) and he wanted to play games like Garry's Mod, Minecraft, and Skyrim.

I chose the locked i5 because it fit better in his price range and he won't be overclocking at all. Also, he didn't care about the looks of his computer that much, he just wanted pure performance (hence the ****** case and cable management).

My biggest mistake was not getting him an SSD. Back then, I didn't know the benefits of SSDs. Ever since I put one in my main rig, I've never gone back.

Otherwise, everything is pretty standard. He put it on wheels so he can move it from that theater area into his room where he has a monitor and desk. He's an artsy guy so he made some custom decals for the case which I think are pretty cool.

Yes, those are legos. I think I've taken them out since then but they were there to fix some of the GPU overhang.

Otherwise, he's still very happy with it and I felt like I did a pretty good job in his price range.

Yeah, I didn't have any cables ties to use back then. Maybe someday soon I'll go back and re-do the cables for him.
