Description

So i like to mod PC's, I wanted to build another pc in the extra unused power supply bay i had in my PC-011air (why the hell don't the manufacturers all make modular bays for this kind of thing?). Challenge accepted! Case meant for one PC now houses 2 complete water cooled gaming systems. Major mods i did were: Cut out small area for i/o shield for mini-itx, drill out screw holes for front 140mm fans, cut a slot near 360mm radiator for hoses on 240mm radiator to slot in thru the case panel, cut out top and sheer off rivets on bottom of 360mm radiator area, mount fans from inside the fan housing so the screws don't bump side panel, and then route 600MM PCI-e cable between motherboards for the mini-itx's video card. I use these PC's for dual boxing/gaming/and research only. If you like it or if you just have ideas about other PC's send me a message or drop a comment and i like to see other peoples idea's too.

PC-1: I7-8086k (first on the site), 16GB Gigabyte 3200Mhz ddr4, Samsung 970 pro 512GB and Samsung 970 evo PLUS 1TB SSD's, Gigabyte RTX 2070 mini ITX Graphics card, Fractal design S36 360mm Radiator AIO cooler, Gigabyte Z370M D3H motherboard, Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I wifi bluetooth card, Corsair commander Pro, EKWB NVME heatsinks, and Win10 pro.

PC-2: I3-8100, 8GB Samsung 2666Mhz ddr4, Samsung 970 pro 512GB and Samsung 960 evo 1TB SSD's, MSI GTX 1070 Aero itx 8G oc graphics card, Fractal design S24 240mm Radtiator AIO cooler, Phanteks 600mm PCIe riser cable, Silverstone SST-ES02-USB remote switch kit, and Win10 home.

Shared PC components: Lian-Li PC-O11AIR, Phanteks Revolt X 1200w power supply, 9x Corsair HD120 RGB fans, 2x Corsair HD140 RGB fans, Arctic F8 31 CFM 80mm fan, Silverstone Slim 120mm Fan FN123, CORSAIR Lighting Node PRO, and a NO brand sata fan hub to keep the fans on RADs running 100% all the time no matter which PC is on.

I use Mouse without borders so i can just use one mouse keyboard for both PC's.

My next project is going to be adding a Ryzen mini-STX inside this for a 3rd PC in my case.

EDIT: removed bottom rear 120mm due to interference with 1070 graphics card fan. will replace with low profile fan. installed 4 corsair lighting strips and lighting node.

Just curious, why'd you buy an 8086k with a lower end Z370 motherboard?

did my research this motherboard performance is actually above most of the $500 high end boards and Matx...

Can’t wait to see finished product and seeing this post almost seems like destiny...I am wanting to build in this case but the dynamic version, but I have a dilemma. I want to mount the gpu vertically but I also need to mount a elgato hdpro60 capture card. How hard would it be to mount the capture card in the back where you mounted your mobo and just run a 1x extender cable? Was the 600mm too long, would 300,400 work? Thanks in advance.

the only difference between this version and the dynamic is the 3 fans in the front panel (this is 100% removable!!)

600mm was perfect/cost effective pcie 3.0 x16 the avermedia with removed pci bracket fits in rear fine.

Thank you!!! My last build was 10 years ago so I’m far from a pro, I just knew there was no way to fit the vertical gpu and the capture card without some kind of modification which I couldn’t do until the case came in...thanks for saving me a step.

i don't recommend vertical GPU. i have tried it with the LIan LI kit, and sent it back its just it didn't fit well and you loose 2 120mm fans in the process, the cooler master one ive seen fits also and u can keep your fans if you have the right motherboard, either way the pcie cable is bent like hell back there. the way i did it it isnt bent up or cramped and has air flow to all the components.

Make a Threadripper/9700K Dual PC with a Avermedia 4K HDR capture card and 1660 Ti on the 2950X Threadripper system, and a RTX 2080 on the 9700K ITX system.

That would be the ultimate streaming dual system setup.

Not really when considering x264 at "slow" for Twitch. x264 already is extremely stressful and for 1080p FPS streamers, it's no faster than "medium" x264 preset or bust.

there is actually room for the new stretched mini itx size boards like "Onda H310C-CD3" that support processors from 6th-thru 9th gen intel. awesome right?
