16gb is not overkill. Just because 8gb is enough for most gamers. People do more than just game and even some of the newer games are requiring more and more system resources. Not to mention RAM disks etc 16gb I feel is the new sweet spot for computing

That I do agree on anything really over 1600 your going to see highly diminishing returns on. It's better to stick to 1600mhz and a low cas. Although I know in my case the higher frequency ram will sometimes be the same price or cheaper! Generally it's not worth the premium in price! Unless your filthy rich then screw it!

Yes when you look at your part list there is an area that says something like, "Have you built this configuration? Show off your work!". If you click that you can publish your build on the Completed Builds and front page.
