Description

Thought I'd try this PC build for the first time with the help from a friend initially then eventually from NCIX Langley. Guy named Ross helped me with finding what I needed as I didn't know what to buy. He started me off with the CPU (remains the same to this day), Motherboard (remains the same to this day), ram (two at the time, still remain), Case (formally Corsair 330R) and HDD (remains the same to this day + another one). Then as a few months to a year had gone by, I started adding other components and the rest is history.

Future Plans:

-September 2017: Parts list still the same except for the keyboard, replaced the Vengeance K70 with the Vengeance K70 RGB edition and replaced the Corsair H60 AIO with NZXT Kraken X62 AIO Ver 2. And replaced the mouse (then a Logitech Performance MX to a MX Master 2S).

-December 1, 2018: Increased memory from 16GB to 32GB (Same Brand). Upgraded keyboard from K70 RGB to the Strafe RGB MK.2 Cherry MX Silent.

-February 20, 2019: Upgraded GPU. Went from Gigabyte 970 G1 gaming to an Asus ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080.

-April 2019: New desk. GERTON/ODDVALD from Ikea.

What's next? (February 20, 2019) ...pretty much gonna run this pc as far as I can.

interesting that you have 2 different sets of RAM but I cant see any problem with that, other than that this is a very nice build! I would have gone for a 240mm rad cooler just to ensure lower temps but that one should work just fine especially if you dont overclock, but I dont know much about that cooler's limitations so unsure how it will perform with overclocking, but it depends how much you overclock

the ram is just different colors, nothing unusual in a build

Different color but same ram. Part list might not be correct for the "white set"

I have not ventured into overclocking, just yet. For what I am doing I am more than satisfied. Doing more research on oc.

How are you liking the PA248Q's? I'm a few clicks away from getting one as a second monitor next to my ROG Swift.

Thanks. Not a bad start to your build. I was contemplating that NZXT case myself.

I had that "cyberex" keyboard since 2005. It was time for a new one. LOL.

How has this cooler treated you? Is it holding up to its warranty? Really want it but hesitant due to pump failure stories... :P

The X62? It's been good to me so far. I bought version 2. I believe they addressed those pump issues for version 2 models. My cpu is a lot better with heat than with my previous AIO, Corsair H60. At idle it sits at 28-30°C and while light gaming (Mostly Fifa 17/18) it hovers around 54-56°C. No complaints.
