Description

Been a long time since I did a build, and I really needed an upgrade, but wanted to have some fun with it.

You may notice that the case, a Corsair 380t is impossible to find anymore, This is still true, but I love this case and so to get one, I had to order mine from China, and the shipping costs were pretty heavy. So add another ~275 to what the build actually cost.

I got the T-force RGB memory, but didn't realize it's not compatible with the Gigabyte RGB fusion, so that was a minor disappointment. Worked after the Bios update... but I got a great deal on all the parts, so overall it worked out well.

I pulled the power supply and 2 SSD's from my previous system, so now I've got this one running Ubuntu, Win 10 and Mac with each on their own SSD, and using the 8TB drive as a shared drive for storage.

May add more lights, new monitors and such later, but I think for now this is suitable for ruling the galaxy.

"Eat blaster, Rebel scum!!"

+1

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 6 points 5 months ago

Now that's the kind of go-getter attitude we like to see in the troops! Promoted to sargent.

SirHalpin 1 Build 3 points 5 months ago

"That is the promotion I'm looking for."

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 2 points 5 months ago

Correction, Saw your Mononoke build..Promoted to Major.

SirHalpin 1 Build 2 points 5 months ago

Thank you! I do miss that build sometimes. I have a different current PC I haven't gotten around to posting it here yet, its in my saved parts lists as "Prophecy of Sotek". Not sure if you're a fan of Warhammer at all, but I'm planning a total case mod for Warhammer like you did here.

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 3 points 5 months ago

Not really a gamer, my builds are for development. But for me, it's more an appreciation of the art and creativity, and I'd like to see it when you post it!

efw89 1 Build 4 points 5 months ago

+1 just for the case alone! Nice build!

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 3 points 5 months ago

Thanks! I looked at your build... I almost went with a tie fighter as well, but the star destroyer stood out better :)

ApocPony 4 Builds 4 points 5 months ago

Well done on the feature,“Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.” +1

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 2 points 5 months ago

Wow! I didn't know till I saw your comment! Thank you!

Whittos 3 points 5 months ago

Awesome!

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 2 points 5 months ago

Thank you!

Shimazu 3 points 5 months ago

Like what you did with the case. Great job :)

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 2 points 5 months ago

Thank you!

Wolklung 3 points 5 months ago

Very nice build - and that case has turned out amazing!

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 2 points 5 months ago

Thank you very much!

Howling_Wolf 1 Build 3 points 5 months ago

REBEL SCUM (hello there)

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 3 points 5 months ago

LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE (hi)

Forza1sra 3 points 5 months ago

Awesome build! Congrats on getting featured! Certainly don't see cases like that all too often. What do you use it for?

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Well, my last case was a full ATX, and having to move it anywhere was a real pain. I don't move it often, but I wanted it to be convenient, and not take up a lot of room. It's also a great modding case, really a shame corsair discontinued it.

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Forgot to mention, it's a lot heavier than it looks, so I may start doing reps with it :)

Minky7 3 Builds 3 points 5 months ago

66 Upvotes, just as it should be.

Minky7 3 Builds 1 point 5 months ago

RIP, it was good while it lasted.

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 4 points 5 months ago

So was order 66... :(

Arminecraft 1 Build 2 points 5 months ago

Original, overpowered, portable. Is there anything else to ask for?

"...but I think for now this is suitable for ruling the galaxy." Heck yeah

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

More RGB?

I've very satisfied, but I want to update the monitors, keyboard and mouse at some point...

Arminecraft 1 Build 2 points 5 months ago

RGB is overrated, but keeping it in rainbow mode would turn your PC into a moving disco, so looking forward to that :P

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 3 points 5 months ago

Guess I should have added a sarcasm tag... yeah. I'm not real big into all the flashing and color changing, but it's nice for the holidays, or if I'm hosting a rave in my apartment :P

Arminecraft 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Got your sarcasm don't worry ;)

All my RGB stuff is set to a static colour so it matches the colour scheme, the "I can't choose which colour to pick so I have them all at once" mode is too much for me

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 2 points 5 months ago

Yeah, having 2 of the fans fixed at blue, then a slow fade in RGB of the other lights, gives a nice effect without being distracting.

gorkti200 2 Builds 2 points 5 months ago

This build speaks to my heart. Quite well done!

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 2 points 5 months ago

I can see why, bro! Thanks!

Liera21 2 Builds 2 points 5 months ago

It only needs some Tie Fighter wings :)

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

I actually considered building a table for it to look like a tie fighter, but I wouldn't have room for it anywhere. I still think that would look really cool.

TooManyGs 2 points 5 months ago

None of the vents lead directly to the core, correct? Wouldn't want any rebel scum getting any ideas.

Awesome compact build +1

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

I really laughed out loud at that!

Thanks!

m00f 6 Builds 1 point 5 months ago

I don't really post here much, and I don't really like star wars. But damn that case looks good. Love the way the mesh looks in black+white with the design.

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Thank you, I was really worried about if the mesh would have enough detain in the final product, I was pleasantly surprised!

thefowles1 1 point 5 months ago

I notice you have a few fans in use (looks like 1 in & 1 out + 2x120 for AIO), but the mobo only has 2 I/O for chassis fans + the AIO connector. Do you use more than the 2 chassis fans?

ETA: this is a gorgeous build, well deserving of the feature! Grats!

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 2 points 5 months ago

The pump has it's own dedicated plug. The radiator fans have an adapter so I only need 1 plug for both, and I've got the front fan in the third one.

The case itself has a fan controller for 3 fans built into it, so I'm using one of those for the rear fan.

Thanks!

thefowles1 1 point 5 months ago

The case has a controller? That's a surprising but convincing argument...

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Yeah, it's the button on the left, 3 speed switch, and there are 3 4-pin plugs for the fans.

Splatterlord 1 point 5 months ago

LAN-machine !!!

rogdog56 1 point 5 months ago

Holy crap this is cool

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Thank you!

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Thank you!

JudahRoars 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

I saw this the other day and thought it deserved a feature! So cool!

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Thank you for the positive vibes! :D

Jhull13 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Quick question-can this CPU cooler fans be multi color? Or only 1?

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

The cooler comes with 2 RGB fans, they can either be both on the same RGB input on your MB or you can put them on separate pins if you want them to be different colors and your MB supports it. Each fan can only be one color at a time.

Jhull13 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Thank you. Might just stick with NZXT not quite sure.

richardsandson 1 point 3 months ago

The more comments I read, the more I spot in the pictures. This really is a quality example of case art.

Thanks for the inspiration

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 2 points 3 months ago

High praise indeed! Thank you very much!

DropEm2k 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

how you like the cpu cooler?

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

No complaints. Granted, I haven't done anything to push it.

Hayden_Hurst 1 point 1 month ago

Looks like a damn generator

Daniel720 1 point 1 month ago

WaterTriber 1 point 5 months ago

You’re probably on more than me so that’ll be easy.

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Cool, We'll see what happens :D

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 5 points 5 months ago

I wasn't even considering that, I discovered this site by accident, and it was really helpful for doing the parts selection. I was really proud of how it looked, so I posted it.

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Looks like you called it!

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Think so? That would be awesome! Perhaps one day I can quit coding and do mods for a living!

Haven't really pushed it yet, but with general use I'm pretty consistent at 40C

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

I cut out adhesive vinyl and put over the areas to mask, then did spray paint over it. on the front and stormtrooper side, it was easier to spray the whole piece white, then mask it and spray black.

icusmiling submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

no, that's the fun part! :D
