Description

This was my first attempt at building a custom computer and not a single snag albeit nerve wracking. Everything was purchased from Micro Center with the exception of the O.S. The Corsair 760T Case has plenty of room for upgrades, SLI, and liquid cooling. I did note that the GTX 970 does run a little warmer than most of my past cards with an idle temp of 45C and about 60C under load, but from what I have gathered these are all within safe limits of what the card can handle.

Fixed! It is indeed 8gb, thanks for the heads up. I was debating on if 16gb would be overkill or just perfect, I'll figure it out in a couple weeks.

8GB is definitely plenty.

Indeed, I have a feeling I'm going to spend any remaining funds towards a new monitor and after market cpu cooler

I don't plan on running SLI or anything for a while that would demand a higher quality PSU. That will most likely change in the future, as will the PSU if it happens.

Those would be very worthy investments.

Wow, $1100. That's great! I'm surprised the RAM was only $65 at microcenter. everywhere I've looked (last week was last time) it was no less than $75 for crap spec'd RAM. I LOVE THAT CASE SO MUCH OMGAHHH.

There was some pretty good deals to be had, and the associate that helped us actually went above and beyond by searching most all of the items to price match. It couldn't of been a better experience for a first timer.

Wow that explains it. I've had good support from the staff in the micro center near us. I'll be sure to give the price match a go next time!
