Description

Picture: There are a few things in this picture that are different from the parts list. First, the GPU. I was using a temporary GPU at the time of taking this picture, and I couldn't find any of the more recent ones. Also, there are 2 500gb hard drives in this instead of a 1tb. This is because I was gifted these hard drives, so I figured I'd save money and use those.

This was a very fun experience! I had taken time and planned out what I wanted and why I wanted it, and everything fit together perfectly. There wasn't any problems building in this case, and over all there wasn't any issues installing anything.

The only thing I wish I would have done was research a little more. At the time of this build, I had went with a Haswell CPU, even though Skylake had been released. If I had the chance to go back, I would have went with the Skylake CPU and all of the things that go with it. Another thing while we are talking about parts, I got the GPU on an AMAZING deal. It was only $155 where I got it which saved me a lot of money.

Now yes, I do have poor cable management in this picture. I'm very aware that it is sloppy, however I did try to redo some of it after the time of this picture. So don't hate on it too much :P

Part Reviews

Motherboard

Good looking board. It has been a good motherboard for me, and it wasn't too expensive for an atx-motherboard. I had issues with the IO shield, it has those annoying prongs that make it hard to install, but that was the only down side to me.

Memory

There isn't much to say about ram :P It works and looks pretty good. 10/10 for me.

Storage

Pretty good SSD. There are cheaper ones that you could go for, but this one seems to do the job quite well. However, it is meant for more of a OS drive only thing, given it's small storage space.

Case

Really great case! It had good room for cable management and was pretty well built. Yes, it is cheaper-ly built, but it still is very good :) I would recommend!

Power Supply

Great quality PSU. It has already wrapped black cables, and PLENTY of power for most builds.

Optical Drive

It get's the job done. There isn't anything wrong with it really. It was great especially for less than $20. If you are still buying these, I would recommend this one.

Wireless Network Adapter

It does pretty well. Obviously it isn't recommended to have wireless while you game, but I use it for that. It works fine and it hasn't dropped the internet connection at all. I have used it for about a week now and it hasn't given me any problems.

Bit of an overkill on the PSU. A great unit. Like, don't get me wrong on that. Just a not necessary for this system. Even if you want to upgrade in the future. SSD is fine, maybe something better for the price would have been nice. CPU cooler is actually a bit disappointing in my experience. However I have read a lot of good reviews about it (as many bad ones), your take on it?

I chose that PSU, because I plan on upgrading my rig sometime in the future. I generally always want to have enough power for whatever may come, and I might be getting into crossfire/sli. I chose the CPU cooler because of a couple reasons. First, my room is fairly hot all through the summer, and I heard that water cooling is better for hotter environments. But I haven't really messed around with temperatures yet. I will later though. :)

haha I was going to say that there was an unusual component in the second picture, not many people feature themselves in their build pictures, not intentionally anyway(surface reflection)

and the accidental toe in the shot. I always give +1's for accidental toe pics

I didn't even notice that! haha

I mean there wasn't a toe in your pic (I don't think) I was just saying it's funny when people accidentally do that.

Oh haha. Well I checked and it does look like I do if you look at the CPU cooler hard enough.

I think it's cool that people stand behind what they put their time and effort in, I just prefer to not have my picture on the internet.

I just posted that because it was another picture showing off my build. Plus I might as well claim ownership XD

its good for when people see a picture of your build and don't believe you built it.

Yeah, I have another build but I need to get more pictures for it. I only have 1 and it sucks haha.

I figured I might as well. I could have waited a bit and put in a better picture but I thought I might as well.
