Ive been into computer gaming since the early 2000's but never could afford to have my own system let alone build one from scratch. Finally saved up some pennies and this is what i came to for my first build. Cant say im 100% impressed with the performance thus far but i do have to remind myself i didnt go top of the line on anything in this build. Still have not overclocked anything as i still feel too uneducated about such a thing to be tampering with it. Over all it will do in the time being until i can save another 2500$ and build something i can really dive into. Open to criticism as im still learning but please dont be too mean! xD

Edit August 23rd, 2018

-Have made a few changes to the PC since the original build guide was posted. UPGRADES CPU- Ryzen 5 1600 Amazon 209.79 Ram- Two more of the same sticks G.Skill Ripjaws 4 series Total now at 16gb ram, Amazon 119.99 M.2- Crucial 500gb Amazon 129.99 GPU-Asus ROG Strix 1070Ti 8gb Amazon 599.99

Will most likely upgrade from the stock CPU cooler soon as well as im wanting to start overclocking again. Took a break as i fried the Ryzen 3 1200 i got originally -.- Kinda through me off of overclocking for a time but hey its learning and id rather learn that valuable lesson on a cheap cpu xD Contemplating a Mobo upgrade as well, thats more out of aesthetic wants tho not really any need lol. Open to some suggestions on Good Mobos with fitting color layouts :D

Part Reviews

Well rounded Starter B350 Mobo, Lots of fan headers and a simple layout that looks good too. Would give 5 stars but it woulda been really nice to see a couple more SATA ports :/

Ram is Ram. Ram Good. All 4 sticks run at 2400mhz no problem and they are not even listed on the compatibility page for the mobo i used :P

Its Faster than anything i have used in the past xD this is good enough for me haha

Video Card

FREAKING SWEET CARD BRUH! in all seriousness it is an awesome graphics card, performs beautifully with any game no if's and's or butt's (lol). ONLY REASON I DONT GIVE FIVE STARS, friggin thing came with some Hcore coil whine -.- Me being me im too lazy to try and return it for another one so meh ill put up with some noise while gaming. Really cant hear it much with the headset on anyways so still solid :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE this case! Like it legit keeps me up at night couse ill just get lost looking at the breathing cycle XD first aftermarket case I ever built in and i just cant get enough of it :D

Power Supply

Power Is Good. Power Make PC On. Is Good. Not much to say lol.

OC'ing is easy, just make sure you don't put in too much voltage and you'll be fine. My r3 1200 is at 4.0GHz with a voltage of 1.39-1.4. Don't go past that as too much voltage can shorten the lifespan.

Yea ive watched some videos on youtube of people overclocking and it seems simple enough but im still just waiting till i find someone knowledgeable enough and close enough to me that i can watch them in person xD i just dont have wiggle room to go replacing my stuff asap if i break it xD

Yeah that's a good idea :p

750W PSU? That's overkill much?

Turndaddy submitter 1 Build 1 point 15 months ago

Lol, yes i agree it is overkill. xD The power supply is the first thing i actually bought and i just wanted something with enough power if i wanted to upgrade and do a water cooling loop or run SLI i would be able to power everything :) that and i got it on a hell of a good deal in my town :P

should never spend more money on ssd than your processor. shouldve used that money to get a better gpu

You make a fair point but i just wanted to see what the new bottom line R3 had to offer. I do plan to upgrade to something new in the future, though what i have now works fine. I did manage to overclock it to a stable 3.9ghz and am thoroughly impressed with the performance increase.

no worries, i mean i myself wish i had an ssd but even then i believe your point to be very valid as for gaming a ryzen 3 should be the best in business deal wise. though a 1060 could have been achievable here

Hey !

I am also looking to buying the same ram as you paired with a 1600 ryzen cpu, but now i need a good B350 motherboard that works well with this ram. I was wondering how this ram + motherboard you have chosen worked out? did the ram clock any higher/lower since this ram doesn't seem to be on the QVL for this motherboard you have.

Thanks :)

Cant say ive had any problems with the set up i have. Ive got the ram running steady at 2800 but wouldnt be surprised if i could push it a bit further. One thing i will mention is 8gb was barely enough for me as a gamer trying to play Pubg and have discord open with maybe 2 tabs on my browser, so i quickly picked up another 8gb pack (another two 4gb sticks). If you stream at all/ want to i would deffs invest in atleast 16gb of ram. Hope this helps :D

Sorry for me it depends on what im doing as to what i will use as a listening device. If im editing or just listening to music i like to use the speakers and go loud so i can use the sub. If im gaming or need to keep my sounds low ill use my headset with 7.1 surround.
