Description

i built this computer a while ago but i have recently redone the horrific cable management i used to have.

i will be upgrading the gtx 660 to a gigabyte g1 gaming gtx 960 4gb (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125777) in the next month or two. i picked this processor for multitasking and gaming i also do some small video rendering. i picked this gpu to hold me off until i could afford something else. the motherboard because at some time in the future i might use the four way sli feature and the extra stability when overclocking. 16 gb of ram because i do light rendering so that will increase rendering speed and to help with multitasking. i picked this psu because it is rated 80+ gold and it is in the tier 2a list.

Id recommend a r9 290 or r9 290x over the gtx 960.

^ same. GTX 660 vs 960 isn't a huge upgrade. Plus I'd recommend a card with at least 3GB of vram. Like swiftfishy said, a 290/290X would be a huge upgrade.

Would a 280x be as good as a 960

Are the xfx cards any good I really like how the coolers look. If they are not good which cards are the best.

I'd also recommend the r9 series too. But if your like me and hate the heat/power consumption that they produce then the 960 is better.

I don't care about heat or power because I have a 850 watt psu.

and that 1 isnt too good. You could just wait for a sale or when the 300 series comes out it will drop.

that one has lots of doa and fail reviews. i will probably buy a better more expensive one.

i could also use a 280x for a little less performance. i use 1080p now but will upgrade to 1440p soon.
