I made this build for my wife, who said she'd like to start PC gaming. The goals we set were to build something that could handle triple A games decently well at 60fps, and to to put the build together under $600. She added the condition that the case would be white with either purple or green RGB accents. We had an old build from 2014 (AMD FX 6300, GTX 660) that we took the storage and PSU from, and we bought the GTX 1660 on EVGA's Midweek Madness sale. Everything else was ordered through Amazon, and we did our best to try and get the best performance for the price point we had in mind. Overall, I think it was a success! Everything went together smoothly, it booted on the first try, and I didn't even have to reactivate windows! My wife's happy with the way it looks and how much of an improvement it is over the 6 year old build we had.
