Description

The lovely gal of mine needed a new system in order to continue her streaming hobby, so we patiently waited until Black Friday to create her new and improved "Lorraine 2.0".

We had a tough time contemplating whether or not to spend the extra money on a 3000 series Ryzen chip, but decided to be kind to our bank accounts, as the 2600X will be capable of delivering the performance she needs in the games she plays. We found the processor on sale for $149.99CAD, motherboard also for $149.99CAD, and the RAM for about $100.00CAD. We robbed Lorraine 1.0's PSU, CPU Cooler, RX580 GPU, and HDD/SSD. The rest is new. Parts were purchased at our local Memory Express.

After building, cable managing and running tests, we found this system doubles the performance of her previous FX chip. Overwatch, the main game she plays, easily exceeds 144hz on Ultra. She is also very much enjoying spending time on Planet Zoo, TFT, LOL, Sims 4 and WOW. I will update later with bench tests on single core and all core tests.

love the build! My current is very similar to this. I will say, the H60 is a bit unneeded, as i get similar thermals with a Hyper212 Black Edition. Other than that, build is fantastic!

I agree, we could have honestly used the box cooler with no issues, but the H60 was in her old system, and why waste a good aio cooler right? :)
