Description

Due to a logistic issue, I had to build a smaller PC than the build I last posted here. I hoped to get a different motherboard brand, but alas Micro Center only carried one type of mATX Z97 board. There's nothing wrong with the Gigabyte board, I just wanted some variation between builds.

I decided to spend an extra hundred dollars to get a better video card to reach 60fps in GTA V. I was actually planning to lower the build cost by getting a cheaper SSD, but I remembered that Micro Center was running a promo to get $10 off with the purchase of a CPU.

The motherboard, case and power supply came with rebates totalling $40, but I decided not to add that to the final price list since rebates tend to be random.

Your budget could have been better optimized if you went for a lower wattage PSU... that's overkill for your build.

I went with it since it's the more prudent choice. It would allow me to crossfire in the future and it'll save some money on the power bill since I leave my computer on for days at a time.

if he is going to crossfire it was a wise decision to get the 1000 watts, no need to invest again in another PSU because its not enough... and that PSU has a 10 year warranty, tier 1 and very efficient. HOnestly I wouldn't go with a 850 watts, eventhough he could get away but I don't see the need for that.

he could have gone with the G2 1000 watts or GS 1050 which are also tier 1 and cheaper, but how many times have I seen ppl overpay for corsair units... The 10 year warranty will certainly pay off his investment.

You make a valid point! I agree with this.

Hey, this is good. An external picture or two would be cool. Love the double dissipation card. That exact card is what I'm aiming for by the end of the year.
