Description

I wanted to keep a black and orange aesthetic with this build. I use it mainly for video games and general productivity for work/school. I've overclocked the CPU to 4.25GHz, the RAM is running at 3000MHz. The 1080Ti is running in Gaming Mode with a base clock around 1600 MHz and a boost clock at 1720 MHz. I haven't had any problems with the rig so far. The GPU does have a tendency to get a bit warm, up into the 85-88 Degrees Celsius range, which only happens when I'm playing with maxed settings at 4K resoulution. It's not causing any performance issues or anything, and I should be able to take it down a few degrees if I were to move the empty hard drive bays out of the way and push some air straight at the card. It also does have a water cooling option so maybe in time I'll pick up another H100i or something like that. The case was super easy to build in, it had more space than I knew what to do with and it didn't have any sharp edges to cut you if you were reaching around inside. There's also that wireless charging pad on the top of the case which is incredibly convenient and charges my phone just as fast as any regular cable wall charger. The system achieved a score of 9 103 in Time Spy 1.0 on 3D MARK with G-Sync enabled putting it above 94% of other tested machines. But yeah that's a quick overview of the build. If you guys have any other questions just ask.

Is $4138 how much you paid for this? It's a great build, but seems underpowered for that much sunk into it. Espeially the nearly $1300 1080ti

I mean take out the monitor, keyboard and office pro and it leaves the system itself at like $2900

I also got the full suite [Office and the OS] for $70 all together. Microsoft has a home use program for DoD Employees where you get a digital product keys for dirt cheap.

No the full build cost me around $2.6k. The current prices you see for some of these parts is WAY higher than what I payed. And honestly the monitor ate up most of the build cost at $1,000. The GPU at the time I picked it up was $799. And I picked up the RAM for around $135

Ahhh, in that case, good finds

Nice build! I like the overall color scheme. Solid parts list, I'm completely jealous of your monitor.
+1

I love the monitor. Its incredible for photos, movies and games where high frame-rate doesn't matter too much. I'll be picking up a 144Hz ASUS monitor to go with this one in a year or so.

productivity for work/school

hmmmm...

Just jokes. How do you like the cpu. I'm thinking of getting one.

TheSwolyBible submitter 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

The CPU performs really well. I haven't had any issues with it. Aside from actually getting my hands on an 8th Gen that is. This thing was a pain to track down.

where did you get the orange shroud for the psu? does that come with the case or ordered separately?

TheSwolyBible submitter 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

The PSU shroud I have is from a 3rd party manufacturer as BeQuiet does not make one for the case. Here's the link from Amazon for you:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XHRKWM3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Also keep in mind with this part.. The maker knows this is a desired product and they're the only ones who make it. So it's pretty expensive for what it is.

Hmm If this was my first PC I would cry every day. I still haven't gotten a pc, cuz I have no money :/
